Publisher's summary

The next heart-racing Lilah Love story is coming.

Women are dying.

The killer wants to play a game with Lilah Love. Lilah doesn't play games, she doesn't submit to demands. The love of her life, her ex-lover that isn't so ex at all, Kane Mendez, knows that all too well, but like the hero or perhaps criminal that he is, he'll try to play the game for her.

But this killer isn't playing with Kane, demanding Lilah step up or more blood will be shed. Lilah claims her role on the game board, and she'll do it to save lives, but she isn't happy. And when Lilah isn't happy, someone is going to die, all right, and it won't be her fault. It will, however, be her duty.

UGH - another cliffhanger

I really like this Lilah Love series but had I known this wasn't a trilogy I would have waited to listen to it. I HATE listening to a book, then waiting for the rest of the series to come out. It just stunts the drive and passion I feel with yet another cliff hanger.

In this well written story, the killer is taunting FBI agent Lilah Love. Lilah only plays by her rules and doesn't give a damn about the killers plans. She and Kane Mendez have rekindled their love / hate relationship and there is nothing more her Police Chief brother, or Mayer father can do about it.

As the killer attempts to create mayhem and toy in Lilah's world, she trusts only Kane and even then, it's sometimes "iffy"

Madeleine Maby does a fantastic job narrating Lilah's story. I always love her voice and inflection .

Don’t get in Lilah’s way

Lilah Love...she’s a bad@$$ FBI agent with a mega attitude and a really hot mafia boyfriend. Good story but with a cliffhanger so be warned.

Love Me Dead

I waited for this one to be released in audio form and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Lilah F**king Love is back and staying in New York and she has been called in on a case and it appears from all indication to be about her. The Umbrella Man is all about games but Lilah does not play games. She sees past the games and she is going to solve this one. In typical Lilah fashion she pulls it together and along with Kane (oh, they are so good together!) they can take on not only the Society but also the cartel and Lilah's family if needed. Beware, there is a cliffhanger but that is always expected...

Lilah Love is my new hero

Lilah Love is a successful profiler, but think she works best alone. She says anything she feels (even the f-word) to her boss, her family, her friends and co-workers.
She has a wealthy hot tempered man that loves her and protects her at all costs.
I completely enjoy seeing the world thru the eyes of Lilah Love. Her cynical views, along with a love of guns, lipstick and strawberry pie, make her one the most entertaining female characters ever! With a quick wit and a connection with dead people, she is truly “Murder Girl”.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY TRIED

First let me tell you that I’m a huge HUGE LRJ fan and will always read anything she puts out there.

I’m also a big fan of books that are a series that follow and cop/fed strong powerful women heroines. For example: JD ROBB/IN DEATH SERIES.

I was excited to start this series because I have a bit of time off from work and needed some big time escapism.
Lila Love - she’s a former law student, police officer and current FBI profiler. Child of a deceased super star actress and comes from Hamptons, Long Island. So she’s super wealthy.

All very intriguing with a mysterious family, hot wealthy criminal love interest and small team that follows her lead.
The problem is the the lead character, Lila Love is a huge nasty KAREN. There is always some type of redeeming quality in a grinch character that’s supposed to be a heroic figure, but not this one. I gave this series three books in to give it a chance but I have never ever disliked a main character as much as this, so I just couldn’t root for her in anyway.

She is absolutely horrifically nasty to everyone in this series - she’s even a nasty human being while having intimate happenings with the male lead to where I’m wondering how he did not deflate during the deed. I mean she’s just ….nasty.

So - ill just leave this series extremely unsatisfied three books on and leaving all the questions and answers behind that I would never get until the ver last book in this series because you never really get the answers and glory of satisfaction in books 1-3 of what I’ve already read.

So with that all said, I’ll continue to look forward to LRJ books, just not this series.

SPOLIER: Book 1 - is a cliffhanger- Spoiler book2 - you still get no answers as well as book three. Built your intensity of hate for the the heroine with increase with each book.

SPOILER - her rationalism in the series of killing her rapist and hired hit man is way too extreme to consider herself a murderer and bad guy. It’s a constant throughout the series and and I just wanted to scream STFU it was self defense. But its almost mentioned in every other chapter of why she’s NOT NORMAL.

This puts me off because in real life, are women supposed to say “OH, ok rape and kill me, I wont defend myself because that would make me a bad person”??????????? I’m not sure what Lisa Renee Jones thoughts about this are but , I’m thinking her way of storytelling is a little damaging to those in real life who have indeed needed to kill their attacker.

So - thanks for taking the time out to read my thoughts and opinions of this series that I’m quitting three books in. Have a great day. :)

OMG...this series is GOOD! 5💫s

This is seriously like watching a thriller in my head. I am so obsessed with the Lila Love series. Don’t think, just get this series, it will blow you away. My goodness this author is amazing, the narration is amazing. Every single character in this book has value, whether they are there to throw you off the scent or not, everyone ties every single piece of this book together. A must listen, 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ romance (light) thriller!

The F bomb spouting fbi agent killer continues!

Well, I know this is fiction had to fast forward over her, Lila Love, repeating herself constantly , flash backs repeated. The F word repeated in every other word out of her mouth. A very cold, hard killing fbi profiler!
Got tired of her f bombs... The entire story was unreal, very repetitive in regards to Lila Love and her f bombs, mannerisms, her social interactions and how an fbi agent acts and treats everyone she works with during an investigation.
Fiction, I know.
But really the amount of f bombs was distracting from the story!
Not a series I would recommend, combine a foul mouthed killing fbi agent treating everyone like crap and getting away with murder with her FBI director on board while she sleeps with her cartel boyfriend and boom you have this book!
Honestly skip this series!
My opinion. Not offended by the f word but when it's every other word use by the main character, it's just distasteful to listen to in an audible book!
Lila did have a mind for finding killers and killing them, but she lacked the personality of a human.
Hence my low rating of this entire 4 book Lila Love (2 books, then another 2 books total series)
Disappointed!
No offense to author. Just not an enjoyable story series to listen to.

The umbrella man is Lila Love’s new killer

There are a few really ridiculous scene problems but the most grating is that the Met has art; it does not have dinosaurs. That is the American Museum of Natural History. A Anyone with an ounce of care about authenticity would have caught this in editing. Also why not have dual narration- Maby is great as Lila but we need Cain’s point of view and more variety of male voice. There are very mild sex scenes, lots of action, and Lila trying to figure herself out along with the case. There is a cliffhanger at the end.
