Publisher's summary

The perfect man for me is a charming, sexy, hot-as-hell lawyer who knows how to negotiate his way into my panties.

#Pfftwhatever. Been there. Done that. Burned the T-shirt. I didn't swear off all men after my divorce, but I sure as hell swore off anyone remotely like my ex. On the top of that list? Attorneys. Everyone knows they can't be trusted.

Now that I've moved back into my childhood home in Chicago, my focus is my daughter, my mom, and me. I haven't given up on finding my happily ever after, it's just on hold - indefinitely. Yup, life is in a real upswing.

Then I see Reed Warner again, and I'm reminded of all my mistakes. I push him away, but somehow he weasels his way into every part of my life, not willing to take "No" for an answer.

In spite of my better judgment, I can't stop thinking about the way his designer suits fit his muscular frame or the way his blue eyes seem to eat me up with every glance. You know when you're on a diet and even hummus seems irresistible? Reed is like the equivalent of chocolate éclair, and my willpower is fading fast.

The problem? Not only is he a lawyer...he was the best man at my wedding.

Great Narration!

5 Crazy Ass Must Listen Stars!!!!!

Kylie Stewart's narration was exactly what this book needed. She did an amazing job drawing me right into the story. I was quiet surprised too especially with only having heard her narrations of Pepper Winters' and Skye Warren's books which are dark and are on the more serious side. She pulled off the rom-com amazingly.
I was happy to listen to this especially since I will be starting Happy Hour after I finish this review. It was a nice refresher on all the characters.

Review from Original Read April 2018
4.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!

Reed, oh Reed! Gah! That man! He had me melting all over my kindle. From his relationship with Henry to all the interaction with Victoria, there is no doubt in my mind that he is one of my favorites of Piper & Rayne's male characters. He didn't knock Dane of the top branch but he came close.
I just love Piper Rayne. These two make a great writing duo. I love their stories, their humor, and their writing just melds together flawlessly.
I'm so looking forward to reading more of this series. And there was a question posed at the end of the book that I want to answer...YES! I want his story. He (not ruining by saying his name) intrigued me even with his mistakes.
And I also can't wait for Afternoon Delight.

Wonderful start to the new series

Piper Rayne has another hit with Charity Case series. Manic Monday is the first book in the series and what a way to start off! Victoria is a divorced mom of a seven year old daughter. She's recently moved back to Chicago to live with her mom, who was diagnosed with MS. As she's dropping her daughter off at school, she sees Reed dropping off a boy. Reed is such a wonderful, sexy, thoughtful man. Who could be so perfect. Except Reed is a lawyer like Victoria's ex and he was best man at their wedding. He's also the Big Brother to Henry, the boy he's dropping off. Victoria fights against all the feelings Reed brings out in her but he doesn't give up. You will see how wonderfully thoughtful Reed is at the end of the book. This is such a great story with great characters and I can't wait to listen to the other books in the series! Kylie Stewart is a great narrator and brings so much to the story.

Fantastic story!

Manic Monday is amazingly wonderful. Who knew I could fall for such a good guy? I absolutely loved Reed! And Victoria? I already liked her from previous books. I think one of the reasons I liked her so much is because she just may be as stubborn as I am. LOL! Nothing she did surprised me and for once, I loved that about her.

One thing I love about Piper Rayne novels is the fact that they’re not just about a man and woman finding each other. Victoria has Hannah and Chelsea, who are such amazing characters on their own and help round Victoria out. Both had me rolling in laughter! But when they’re all together? I wish I were right there with them!

Reed…(sigh) I need a Reed. He’s such a good man. When Victoria discovered what he did outside of work? Cue the swoon. I love a man who does that and enjoys it. Want to know what that is? Gotta read it for yourself! I adore his persistence and his smirks! One thing I didn’t expect from him made my heart drop (thanks a lot, Piper Rayne)!

I read the ebooks first then listen to the audio versions. And as for this performance, I felt that the narrator put a little more effort into the dialogue for all the other characters than Victoria. The hot, sexy scenes were made to sound kind of boring when I know for a fact they're not. I was disappointed because this story and the authors deserved a 5 star performance. The narrator, unfortunately, sounded like she was simply reading to herself and not putting much of an effort.
