Story
Everyone in the quiet Jersey Shore town of Silver Bay knows the story: on a Sunday evening in September 1991, Ramsey Miller threw a blowout block party, then murdered his beautiful wife and three-year-old daughter. But everyone is wrong. The daughter got away. Now she is nearly eighteen and tired of living in secrecy. Under the name Melanie Denison, she has spent the last fifteen years in small-town West Virginia as part of the Witness Protection Program. She has never been allowed to travel, go to a school dance, or even have internet at home. Precautions must be taken at every turn, because Ramsey Miller was never caught and might still be looking for his daughter.

Publisher's summary
Troubled by dreams of hell and the Rapture, Michael Rivers fights to overcome his visions by keeping a diary and staying awake with coffee. But his nightmares can only be dispelled by facing the mesmerizing preacher who terrorized his childhood. The psychologist treating Michael, Veronica McCord, is an atheist fighting for custody of her son, while her ex-husband - a federal judge - has begun taking their child to the same preacher affecting Michael.
Now, Michael and Veronica both have a reason to confront this controlling televangelist, but the twists will be even more surprising than they imagined. Confronting the rich Rev. Stillman at his beach house during a hurricane party, they will both certainly learn the truth over coffee cake, but with the freak hurricane clocking record winds and a tidal wave coming, only one of them will survive to tell it.

Story
Leah is a child from Away, isolated from her peers because of her stutter. After her family moves to Mattingly, she begins painting scenes that are epic in scope, brilliant in detail, and suffused with rich, prophetic imagery. When the event foreshadowed in the first painting dramatically comes true, the town takes notice. Leah attributes her ability to foretell the future to an invisible friend she calls the Rainbow Man. Some of the townsfolk are enchanted with her. Others fear her. But there is one thing they all agree on—there is no such thing as the Rainbow Man.

Story
When a nativity display on public property is torched by a former US Senator, the media spotlight falls on the forgotten small town of Leonard, Texas, and the new pastor of its only church—Adam Wells. Emboldened by the prospect of leading his tiny congregation in a nationally-televised, first amendment debate that he considers to be a “fight for the heart and soul of America,” Pastor Wells determines not to let anything or anyone, including his wife and his rebellious sixteen-year old daughter, stand in his way.

Captivating story!
Great narration too. A very gripping novel, with some really fine writing, and full of theme, which always keeps me interested. I was fully into it from the first scene. Highly recommended.
