Publisher's summary

"Maybe I was stupid to have agreed to this, but when all of the options that you have in life are dangerous ones, you can only choose to do something reckless, or turn a blind eye, and allow the cards to fall as they may...and I was sick of being blind."

Seraph Black has endured a vicious stalker, a change of schools, a bonding, a triple-murder, and more than her fair share of uncomfortable situations - but it seems like the world isn't done with her yet. The messenger is back with a systematic vengeance that knocks her flat, and not even her self-proclaimed secret-keepers are prepared for how far he is willing to go to get what he wants.

She is walking on eggshells, trying to keep everyone at a distance. Especially those that are closest to her. Unfortunately, there is one person who keeps slipping through the cracks: Silas Quillan, the gift in her life that keeps on taking. Every time she turns around, he's taking something else from her: her choices, her privacy, her freedom, her sanity...and if she's not careful, the next victim might just be her heart.

Warning: While this audiobook is intended for a young adult audience, it is not recommended for persons younger than 15 years, due to some disturbing themes.

Loved this book!

This book was amazing!! So much has happened! Let's start with Seraph, this girl has gone through so much! And things keep slamming her down through the whole book. Through the whole book I felt so bad for her and angry in her behalf! She gets no breaks, she jumps from one problem to another and she has no idea whom to trust, and I don't blame her!! I don't trust anyone anymore either.

Silas: I feel bad for him too, he's one of the other characters that I felt pity for. His dad is some messed up psychopath and in turn has caused Silas to be a bit unstable.....but dang that ending!!

As for the other three ....*sigh* I don't know I just feel disappointment!! Cause they are constantly hurting Seraph!!! Like why!?? And I felt like overall all the guys with the exception of Silas, was really stupid. They didn't try hard enough!! And lemme just mention again how much those particular three hurt Seraph!!!

On a positive note! I love poison an Clarice! Seraph needs friends...or at least some people somewhat stable in her life? And she at least got that From them!

Anyway great book!! Idk if I have the patience to wait for the next one to be released on audible!

Cheers!

A seductive read!

The stalker is back...
With a vengeance...
And nobody is prepared for how far he is willing to go to get what he wants...

Holy hell! Once I picked up this sequel, I couldn't stop reading until I was finished. Such an all-consuming, seductive, dark and thrilling read!

I simply cannot get enough of this series nor can I express my love for this series enough. It is just not possible to describe how hard I have fallen for this series. So damn captivating!

Full of mystery, stalkers, suspense, allure, danger, secrets, lies and attraction.

Perfect for readers of urban fantasy romance/reverse harem.

I really enjoyed listening to these characters. I enjoyed them being brought to life.

Best Narrator

I'm in love with the narrator of this series. This is my third reread of Seraph Black. This book in particular is quite frustrating but a lot of good comes from it. I will admit overall the series still needs a few questions answered but for the most part it's quite satisfying. Beyond excited the third book is finally released on audible.

Interesting, but needed a little more editing

Book 2 of the series continues directly from Book 1, Charcoal Tears. It’s interesting, but wish Jane’s writing group or Editor helped more in smoothing out disconnects.
Example #1: Book 1, the messenger painted a smiley face on her naked stomach. Book 2, the messenger sees her naked after the accident. Wouldn’t he have seen her double birth mark when he first painted her?
Example #2: If her “father” Gerald sexually abused her when she was younger, wouldn’t she have picked on the possible sexual nuances of 1 pair, let alone 2? Virgin does Not equal stupid.
Schroeder does a decent job of narration.

I can't wait until the next audio comes out!

In this book we learn a bit more about who Seraph is and yes, the messanger is revealed. More obstacles are thrown at Seraph and her endurance to handle these crisis is tested.
