Publisher's summary

Stephen Hastings is a control freak.

He's arrogant. He's smart as a whip and sexy AF.

He has too much money. He's bossy, and he's usually right.

All I saw were his clear blue eyes, tight butt, and ripped torso.

I gladly handed him my V-card that night, 10 years ago.

I was so stupid. I swore I'd never be that stupid again...

Emmy Barton works for a dry cleaner?

Yes, that Emmy Barton - long, blonde hair, bright blue eyes, pretty smile...

Sexy little body. Smart mouth.

She was the only girl who interested me, but I was leaving to be an officer in the Navy.

Now I'm home, running my business. My life is perfectly ordered until I bump into her, divorced and struggling to make ends meet.

I hate seeing her like this. I hate that she married Burt "The Dick" Dickerson. What an a--hole.

She says she hates me, but when we fight, it's all heat and lust.

I won't leave her this way.

She will let me help her and her son. She will stay...

It's a thin line between love and hate, and this line is on fire.

Stay is a stand-alone enemies-to-lovers, second-chance, marriage of convenience romance. No cheating. No cliffhangers.

Quite steamy, with an amazing book boyfriend

I liked it very much. It was quite steamy, with an amazing book boyfriend. I mostly enjoyed the narration, though I wasn’t a fan of Lucy Rivers’s male voice. The fake relationship trope was well written, and it was interesting to follow the struggles of the mother of a child suffering from seizures. Especially her confrontations with her ex-husband, and the father of the child, who chooses to deny his son’s illness.

The characters seemed a bit too perfect–sure, they made mistakes, but they had so many qualities too. Emmy made bad choices after a drunken one night stand, but she’s also resilient–and pretty–and loves her son very much. Stephen was a douche when he was young, but he has a good heart and actually feels bad for his past behavior. Eli is smart and a good kid. I’d have liked a bit more flaws in them, so I could relate more. On the contrary, Burt is the perfect bad guy–cheater, homophobe, he doesn’t care for anyone but himself.

The side characters–older women from the main characters’ entourage–bring some humor to the mix, or it would be an angst fest.

It was my first book by this author, and I’ll sure check her other books.

Teddy and Lucy were beyond phenomenal

I enjoyed the audiobook sooo much more then I did when I read the book and do t get me wrong I really enjoyed the book. It’s a wonderful second chance romance with perfect dose of emotions, angst and heat. Teddy did justice to Stephen Hastings alpha character . Both Teddy and Lucy captured the chemistry , emotions & angst seamlessly. Definitely worth listening this story. Deserves all the stars.

Very Enjoyable, except..

Steven and Emily. Not exactly a match made in heaven but with Eli in the Maddie of them, lots of potential. Good story and, of course, Teddy Hamilton was fabulous. The only annoying issue for me was Lucy Rivers’ male voices. The worst in the narrating business. All her men sound like dumb and dumber, or doofus’. It almost ruined the book so I fixated on Teddy Hamilton.

Love this story!

I really enjoyed listening to the Audiobook of Stay. I thought the narrators did a bang-up job bringing a Emmy and Stephen to life.

Emmy met Stephen through her brother and she was in love. He barely noticed her until one night he did and then he was gone and out of her life for 10 years. One day he comes into her place of employment they are each other for the first time. Stephen is instantly attracted only she basically hates his guts and her life has changed she is recently divorced with a 7 year old boy, Eli. Eli has a seizure disorder.

Eli made this book extremely personal to me as I'm raising a child with Epilepsy. I may have nitpicked some areas of the book but overall I thought Tia Louise did a great job when talking about seizures what what's it's like for the parents. I broke down sobbing at one point. But that's just me and my experience. Like this book was super therapeutic for me, it helped me deal with things I hadn't deal with and wasn't exactly ready to deal with.

5 stars!!!!!

From the story to the narration this is by far one of favorite reads of all time. Steven is the hero Emmy and Ethan have been waiting for. I laugh and cried and without a doubt recommend this book. Tia gets me EVERY time!

Steven Hastings!

Book was good, somewhat predictable. Emmy had more anger and was more resilient towards Steven over something that happened so long ago when they were young than her terrible ex husband. That part was wild. It was very steamy but narrators male voice was hard to get past. Also Emmy was still fan girling over her own husband. Steven Hastings this, Steven Hastings that. Who refers to their significant other that way? It was getting very corny with the CONSTANT reminder that the great Steven Hastings is THE STEVEN HASTINGS! About halfway through the book I was over her referring to him by his full name and reminding us what STEVEN HASTINGS does/doesn’t do cause he’s…. STEVEN HASTINGS! 😂
