shame on the editor... "this man"

I finished this book because of the story. I cannot bring myself to continue with the next book however. The OVER use of "this man" is like nails on a chalkboard.

Repetitive much

This book drove me nuts, you can only talk about your past & your control blah blah so many times I had to fast forward a couple
Of times just not to hear it again. I only finished it because I had to know how this
indecisive story and ends.

Good

I enjoyed the story but I found the protagonist irritated with her constant repetition of her doubts and insecurities. The plot of the story itself was interesting, the ending was a bit of a surprise for sure. And I although I like the narrator, I feel she tends to keep the same monotone through all of her reading. She has a great sexy and seductive voice, but it does not very with everything that is happening in the book. It is still a good read.

One of my new favorite series so far

Lisa has always been able to write Beautiful stories and always pick amazing narrators to tell her story!

But this one I couldn’t stop listening to I finished it in just one night and can’t wait for the next two books! Worth the credit to listen but warning cliffhanger but Lisa is always good at making you want more and it’s always worth the wait!

This book frustrated me

The editing needs work. The narration got on my nerves. I had to fast forward through the sex scenes, I found them so aggravating. Aria, the main character, was not someone with whom I would be friends. She jumps to incorrect conclusions constantly and has no self-confidence. The ending was the absolute worst. I had no idea this was a trilogy, but I didn’t like it enough to download the next one. That cliffhanger ending was not appropriate. The author should have at least wrapped it up a little. When the book ended, I thought the next part must be starting. Nope. The end. Absolutely a horrible thing to do to a reader or listener. I said the editing was bad, because at one point, it read something like, “Him and Chris went …”. Seriously?

Violins and wine

Aria Alard’s on a quest to find her brother Gio. Aria’s family is the creator of the Stradivarius violin. As a rare Cole tables business owner she finds herself at an auction in the hopes of finding her brother. Instead she meets the genius and prodigal violinist Kace August. Sparks ignite and butterflies swoop when they are in the same room together. Aria can’t explain how Kace keeps bringing her back to her past, but she’s worried that this connection will bring only danger.

There’s no disputing this cover design is stunning. It’s show stopper. Upon first look I wasn’t sure what to think about this story considering it’s about a violinist. Lisa Renee Jones transported me into a world of wine and violins with alluring words. This was far more entertaining than I expected. With Savannah Peachwood bringing her sexy voice into the mix I was hooked. Since I’m an ears and eyes person needing both the ebook and audiobook to better connect with the story having a good writer and a great performer enhanced my experience.

Brilliance Trilogy book 1. A Reckless Note is about Aria and Kace. This story is about music and Stradivarius violins. They are tied together by a piece of history sharing space in the same world. It’s a romance with a little mystery mixed in.

Read her other book instead...

The premise and beginning of this book are great but it goes downhill fast. I am not sure why, she had plenty of story, thrill and romance to use from the plot concept to make this an amazing trilogy, it makes me angry that she didn't use any of it. It's a watered down version of her earlier series, The Secret Life of Amy Benson, which is an amazing trilogy that I would recomend on it's own (it's on my read once a year list) and a million times better than this.

This is a story about a woman and her brother who have grown up in hiding, keeping their family history a secret, they work and live next to eachother above their store. All that makes it sound like they'd be close, but her brother disappears with no contact and she thinks he's in trouble and is desperate to find him in the beginning of the book, she is tracking people down, making a plan and thinking about hiring a detective. Then all of a sudden she just decides he is off tresure hunting and ignoring her (and all of his clients for WEEKS?) and isn't in danger anymore and goes out of town for a weekend vacation with a guy she has barely talked to... HUH???

Spolier

She is desperate to get to an auction of a violin bc her brother got a letter stating it might contain the secret formula to make their family's violins right before he disappears. She thinks he might be tracking it down or have drawn attention from the wrong people and was tricked, possibly kidnapped. She does all she can to get into this auction, but upon finding out the violin is a fake a little before the auction, she does not even bother looking through the people who attend it to see if her brother is there. She does not even stay for the auction to see who bids or who wins but leaves early with a guy who has been hot and cold this whole book. She then goes out of town with him instead of hiring a private detective to help find her brother like she had planned.
