Publisher's summary

A new standalone romance from USA Today best-selling author Meghan Quinn and narrated by Tim Paige and Kelsey Navarro....

I haven't seen her in three years.

I haven't talked to her since the kiss.

So why am I on a plane, flying across the world to spend a week with her in Germany?

One word: Pops.

My life’s a mess.

My possible football career is hanging on by a thread.

I'm driving the roads of Germany in honor of Pops with the one girl I can never have.

And I’m sharing a bed with her, the girl I've measured everyone else up to, while desperately trying to not to touch her.

We made a pact growing up, never to get romantic with each other - never fall in love.

And I'm about to break that pact. For good.

⭐️ ⭐️ 4 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️

Friends to Lovers is my favorite trope! I loved that this book mostly takes place on a trip to Germany, listening to the details of all of the places, especially the Christmas Markets just added this trip as a wish list vacation for me. The story line with the grandfather's road trip plans and letter was so much fun and emotional at the same time. Crew & Hazel were very real for me, the way they bantered and acted even after they became lovers was realistic and felt natural to me! I really enjoyed this story line so much and the HEA was exactly what I needed.

The narration was good. I enjoyed both narrators, I really like Kelsey's voice for all characters and Tim's male voice is yummy.

Sweet, Funny and Emotional Journey

Crew has been a little lost over the last few years and losing his grandfather over the summer messed with his performance enough his career in professional football is on the line. But can an epic holiday in Germany planned by his grandfather as one of his last acts, really be the answer that sets him back on his right path?

Hazel has had a rough life and found her purpose on Crew’s family farm working with his grandfather. She spent summers with Crew growing up and they were best friends. Until that summer she gave in and kissed him... then he ran and wouldn’t talk to her. She lost her friend over that act, and now she’s lost his grandfather. A man who’s wisdom, compassion and mentor-ship has meant the world to her. Her head is spinning as she wonders what will happen to the farm, to her future, and she’s now on this journey with Crew and a set of mystery envelopes providing direction and instruction.

Can these two find themselves on this trip while feeling the presence of the man they both loved in this, his final gift to them? Can they rekindle their friendship, mend the broken bond and move forward?

I was so moved by this story. It was funny and heartbreaking at the same time. I felt the raw emotion of these two receiving words and directions and wisdom from Pops beyond the grave. It makes me want to see all these places and experience the Romantic Road for myself.

Narrators Tim Page and Kelsey Navarro were amazing. The range of emotion from the comedic moments (we didn’t start the fire and pants-less cherub musicians) to the ones that choked me up and made me cry (Christmas Eve) was incredible. They brought this story to life and swept me away.

I've got a girl crush on Hazel

So normally I would gush about the hero in the story. But I have to say I have a little bit of a girl crush on the heroine. Hazel is hilarious, charming, funny and I love her. Her ability to be bold and witty on the outside while she's feeling insecure on the inside is charming.
I  gotta say this book totally gave me some big time wanderlust. I wanted to be right there with them in Germany. Exploring all those towns. Trying all the foods.
Megan Quinn is a genius when it comes to conversations between friends. She had me laughing out loud during those scenes when the boys are just talking back-and-forth to each other. Or when the girls are texting. I love her friends dynamics in her books. It's always so natural and fun. And it really helps me connect with the characters.
Kelsey Navarro and Tim Paige did such good work with this audiobook. Kelsey brought the right mix of sass and vulnerability to my new crush, making me love her even more. I really loved Tim doing the grandfather's letters. He really brought the right amount of emotions and I'm not gonna lie, he made me tear up a couple of times.
This was a super fun, at times emotional book that I really loved.

Awful heroine

First I want to say that I think Megan Quinn is an excellent writer and I’ve liked many of her books. But the heroine is this book is so awful. Honestly she’s a self centered nightmare. She’s an a-hole to the guy for all but about the last 20 mins of the book. She’s insufferable, single minded, stubborn, and just kind of a d*ck. I wish the guy had told her to take a hike at the end.

Still crying about this beautiful story

The Mother Road is my all time favorite MQ book, so it was a no-brainer to listen to the book about Porter and Marley’s kiddos. As usual, this book did not disappoint. Kelsey Navarro and Tim Paige brought these characters to life in such a beautiful way. Like The Mother Road, a family member that has passed away plans a trip for the characters. In this book, there’s letters along the way that guide them and push them together. This childhood friends to lovers, almost a second chance, sports romance had me in tears, both happy and sad. Hearing Pops through letters after loving his goofy character in The Mother Road was so great. Watching the transformation of best friends into partners was beautiful. MQ doesn’t miss, and this is yet another testament to that. I couldn’t love this book more!

Great story! Great audio!

I didn’t even realize I was in the mood for a road trip story, but this book hit the reading mood I was apparently feeling. Friends to lovers is a take it or leave it trope for me in general. I will always read one, but it’s not my first choice. In this story, the transition of friends to lovers was done wonderfully. It was such a natural evolution. I really enjoyed it and would pick of a friends to lovers like this every time.

Crew and Hazel were good friends growing up, spending summers together. They did not stay in touch, but through Crew’s late grandfather were still connected. They were sent on a roadtrip across Germany, all planned and set up by his grandfather. This escape was set up for both characters to grow and find themselves. The way this story is told, I feel like I have traveled across Germany. I want to experience Christmas time there. This was a really great story about two characters in their early 20’s figuring out what they want from life.

The audio was great for this one. Somehow it was my first audio from both narrators, despite knowing both of them by name and reputation. I really enjoyed their work, and they added so much to both characters with their performances.
