Publisher's summary

The Montgomery Ink series by NYT best-selling author Carrie Ann Ryan continues when the final Denver Montgomery sibling refuses to fall for his brother's former flame - the company's new plumber.

Wes Montgomery watched his entire family fall in love, and now finds himself ready to settle down. Except the one person he seems to find chemistry with is not only his twin's ex, she also works for Montgomery Inc. But when the two find themselves in one compromising situation after another, Wes realizes he's having second thoughts about the dynamic woman who's burst her way into his life. Sure, she sets off his temper, but she also makes him hot in every other way possible.

Jillian Reid never loved her best friend like everyone thought she should, so she pushed him away so he could have his future. Now, despite fighting it, she finds herself attracted to the one man she shouldn't. When her father's health takes a turn for the worse, and a danger no one saw coming shows its face, she's forced to turn to Wes for help. The two of them have fought off their attraction long enough, and each cave to the desire. But this enemies-to-lovers tale might have an ending no one ever dreamed of.

good enough

Good enough story. Short but matches the length of the rest of the story. Poor editing and narration had issues. A number of times when names were switched and possibly other words. I don't have the digital or hard copy or I would check there as well.

For me throughout series Mr. Salinas' narration would tend to lean more cheesy than needed. But he speaks well and clearly, giving voices to various characters.

love it

I loved this book and wish I had read/listened to the rest of the series, although it's not necessary! Wonderfully written and narrated!

I really liked the storyline of the Montgomery Family. The love, support and camaraderie of everyone is something all families should aspire to! However, I disliked the end to the story because everything seemed to neatly tied into a bow. For instance, if they were truly dealing with the mob, the drama would have been more extreme. Secondly, the acceptance of the family of Jillion while knowing the truth about her and Storm’s past relationship, wouldn’t go over as easily as it did. It’s small things like that, that made for noticeable inconsistencies. I still enjoyed the series. I also think the little half series between each book should be included as bonus episodes at the end of each story. Just makes sense.

Emotional

I liked the repartee and comraderie. but most of all the FAMILY!! It pulled at my heart strings in the most basic and elemental ways, and it left it's mark on me. This story and characters resonated deeply with me. I loved it. Tears, laughs, intrigue. and heat. The narrator's voice and expressions brought it all to life. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review.

Inked Memories

Wes and Jillian. Where do I start? Wes and Storm are twins, Jillian and Storm are friends (sometimes with benefits), and Jillian and Wes don’t like each other. The Montgomery family is big, but I am getting close to the end of the original series, which makes this book bitter sweet. Wes and Jillian have.a lot of curve balls thrown at them, that’s for sure.

New favorite narrator!

Good story, but probably better to someone who has read all of the series. Even though this is a standalone, it's got a LOT of recap/references of siblings, relationships, and events from previous stories.

This was my first Audiobook narrated by Gregory Salinas and I instantly loved him.
