Publisher's summary

The Blue Coyote is an IndieBRAG Medallion honoree and a finalist in the 2013 CLUE Awards.

Frannie and Larry Shoemaker love taking their grandchildren, Sabet and Joe, camping with them. But at Bluffs State Park, Frannie finds herself worrying more than usual about their safety, and when another young girl disappears from the campground in broad daylight, her fears increase. The fun of a bike ride, a flea market, marshmallow guns, and a storyteller are quickly overshadowed. Accusations against Larry and her add to the cloud over their heads. Frannie begins to puzzle out the mystery: Are the itinerant road workers as much of a threat as Frannie thinks? What about the lone woman camper who also disappears? Or is the girl's deadbeat dad behind it all?

Book 2

Any additional comments?

I am a fan of the mystery/ thriller genre and I enjoyed and loved the camping humor! Blue Coyote is a mixture of mystery and humor that one can enjoy by any age especially the fans of this genre.

Boring and tedious story

After listening to approximately 25% of this audiobook, I have decided that it is not worth continuing any further. The story has been dull and boring. I have no interest in any of the characters. Nothing interesting has been happening. No mystery has been revealed which needs to be investigated.

The narration is good, but plot and dialogue have been so lackluster that I found myself tuning out completely after about 50 minutes into it. After another 20 minutes I have decided to simply stop and move on to another book.

Great plot!

cozy-mystery, amateur-sleuth, abduction, camping, seniors, law-enforcement
Read on October 05, 2016

Another excellent cozy mystery with a campground background. Although this is an ongoing series, each is a sound standalone. The ongoing characters are a group of friends who enjoy each other's company and plan weekends at different state parks, which are enjoyable until a police matter intervenes. No murder this time, but a young girl is abducted even as Frannie and Larry's two grandchildren are with them. Good sleuthing is done by all.
Michelle Babb gives an excellent performance once again with her ability to differentiate characters and their emotions.

It got me thinking

There is no course language. Low violence (kidnapping, held by knife). Mention child sex trade and pornography. Story is well written and get you thinking.
Narrator does a good job giving each character their own Individual voices.

Great Cozy Mystery

The story was well written and kept me entertained. Love seeing what trouble the characters find themselves in each camping trip they take.

Michelle Babb does an amazing job as always bringing each character to life. Onto the next one.

Fantastic

I really enjoyed the narration on this audiobook. The story itself was entertaining and kept my attention. I look forward to listening to the rest of this series. A new favorite. I wish it had not taken me so long to get to it.

Love this series!

Camping is a fun time especially with your grandchildren. How worrisome it becomes trying to keep the fun when a child goes missing from the camp ground. Narration was perfect and I listened to this in one go.

really good story

subject matter is very difficult. the story handled it well. not everything is black and white and accusations are really taken to seriously all of the time instead of being based on credibility. case in point accusing abuse because you are mad that someone did something to you or you are having a bad day. I love these characters. the performances are spot on for making them sound different. maybe not the accents all the time but overall I like them.

Great book!

This was awesome.
Loved that the main characters are in their golden years.

This is book is the second in the series but I found this really easy to follow with enough background to get to know the characters well enough.

Narration was fabulous. Michelle did a great job.

I’d 100% listen to another book about these characters.

Awesome book

Loved this book, this is the first one I’ve read by this author and narrator, but definitely not my last.
This book kept me listening and hard to put down, I kept wanting to know what was going to happen next.
I guessed from the beginning who was going to go missing, but didn’t expect who was accused.
