Sexy short story.

I sometimes steer clear of short stories because I worry that the story is going to feel rushed and lack substance. This was not the case with Isobel Starling's Silken. The story held a steady pace. There was no lag in the story line and there was no rushing through the story. The two main characters Silken and Austin brought a lot heat to the story. It wasn't all sex and BDSM either. Matthew aka Silken was exploring his sexuality and lingerie fetish on a online platform that he created and met Austin who then became his online Dom. By an odd and random chance their worlds collided and they met in person where they were able to live out their D/S side of their relationship that they built online.

This is my first book by Isobel Starling and I really enjoyed it. The narrator Gomez Pugh also did a very fine job. His pace was great as well as his tone and character accents.

A prelude to something better

This audiobook is short but sets up what promises to be a great series.

So the question is: if you meet a Dominant through the internet and you follow the training he guides you through, are you truly a submissive? HIS submissive?

In this case, Matthew (Silken) is a ballet dancer whose career has ended prematurely due to a knee injury. He has taken a job tending rich people’s residences. He is surrounded by luxury he will never himself enjoy.

He is not defeated and his relationship with the mysterious online Dom (Austin82) keeps him going. Exclusive – or so he believes – he follows his Master’s every command with the promise of a fulfilling relationship.

There are some quirky twists and turns, along with some intriguing and hot sex scenes. Who knew suction cups would be so useful? I love the theme of men enjoying sexy lingerie and the touch of BDSM adds heat, which I always enjoy.

Gomez Pugh is one of my favourite narrators and given that Matthew is British and the series takes place in London, I would have expected a British narrator. Pugh, however, does a great job. His accent for Matthew is good, but his deep and husky Austin is amazing.

I recommend this short fun and sexy read.

Silken

I’ve been wanting to check this book out, the blurb was really intriguing. I love books with MC’s who love lingerie, and a bonus Matthew/Silken is a dancer as well. I kinda hated Austin, but that’s personal preference and not against the Authors writing. And I really wanted to Love this book. But. I think if I would have just “Read” the book instead of “listening” to the Audio. I would have liked it better. I did think the Sexy scenes were Great & the BDSM was written well! Totally HOT! But. There was something about the narrator, he wasn’t bad, but he just didn’t work for me specifically on this book.

Loved this book, not at all what I was expecting. It was satisfyingly dirty and steamy. I liked the narrator, it took a minuet to get use to his slow voice, but it was bad. He did a good job switching voices.

Enjoyable and sexy short

I really liked Matthew/Silken, and I appreciated that he tried to be pragmatic about the injury that stole his dancing career from him. I enjoyed his interaction with his online dom, and I loved the coincidences that had them meeting in person. They were very hot and sexy together.
The narrator is one I really like, but this was not one of my favorite performances of his. I did not like Jack's voice most of the time. I did like the way Matthew was brought to life.
I'd love to learn more about these men, but for the short story that it is, I was satisfied with the way things turned out.

When these two meet, a huge secret is revealed. Will Matthew run away?
Very entertaining and saucy MM-d/s story. Great book and, new to me, narrator did an outstanding job.

A sexy young man in lace

An online Dom and a sexy young man in lace - yum! I fell in love with Matthew and Jack. The storyline is both sweet and melancholy, and Gomez Pugh did an excellent job of conveying the characters' emotions. I especially loved his raspy voice for Jack. The only drawback was the ending, which was rather abrupt and unexpected. I would have liked the story to have been longer.

Wow!

I'd previously read Silken without the audio but listening took it to a whole new level. Gomez Pugh's narration is spot on and really made the characters come to life. The story itself is wonderfully sweet and thoroughly enjoyable!

Short & Sweet

This is a short and sweet story of a D/s relationship that has been all online but now the two meet in person. Jack/Austin, the Dom, finds out who his online submissive, Silken, is and sets outs to meet him in person. I really can't say much more without giving away too much. Their meeting doesn't exactly go as expected but you have get this story to see what develops from there.
The narrator was very good. I really like his voices for both main characters and his accents for each one were great. He was able to switch back and forth between the characters seamlessly.

Silken

When Matthew lost his ability to dance, he did not know what to do with his life. He bides his time working for a real estate agency checking on high end properties which gives him the perfect avenue to take pictures for his blog and his online Dom. When Mathew’s Dom accidentally figures out his true identity the chaos begins. Their relationship may just be over after a failed attempt from his Dom at revealing their identities. Mathew must decide if he is willing to take a chance on the man or let everything slip away.

This is a quick story about finding love and working to keep it. When fantasy becomes real life what is a person to do? Mathew must take a chance and grab for his happiness. Austin and Mathew make a good couple and their attraction is off the charts. The sparks soon turn to fireworks and It was nice to see the two work through everything. There is a lot of descriptions about everything in this book and at times seemed almost to be filler. I did not feel a lot of emotions from the characters and they felt very one dimensional to me and the narration only added to that. While Mathew’s accent was nice Austin’s grated and only added to take me out of the book. I would have been nice to have more character development and a deeper story.
