A Hart felt story!

Cover Love: It's a cute cover that says a lot about the story.
I loved this story. It is my first in the Have a Hart series( I did buy the first after reading this) (Christmas Lovebirds) and am eagerly waiting for Connor's story soon.
Valentine Hounddog is a sweet short story about a beautiful fashion designer and an ex-fireman that was burned severely in a fire. This is a fresh take on the beauty and the beast story, though I hated whenever the presses or anyone referred to Larry as a beast. I never saw Larry as anything but a hero and a very sexy, sweet, kind man at that.
Take a hot man that risk's his life to save children, falls in love with a cute, funny basset hound and a fashion designer he thinks is out of his league, you have a well-written story you won't want to put down.

Jennifer Groberg does a great job narrating giving very distinct voice, making cute sounds for Harley and you can hear various emotions in her voice not just reading a book. I loved reading the story but liked listening even more.

Another entertaining story in this series

If you are looking for a clean, at times touching romance about two seemingly opposites in character and “beauty”, then you are sure to enjoy this second book of the Hart family.
This time the animal featured is a sweet hound dog named Harley.
Larry, a former fire fighter whose career ended when he sustained severe burns while saving five children, is a man still trying to deal with his new life. He’s also the best friend to Connor, one of Jenna Hart’s brothers.
Jenna was a little bit hard to warm up to. She is a fashion designer who seems more interested in her success than in her family and poor Larry. But fate, in the form of Harley brings them together in this new version of “beauty and the beast”. Though honestly, Larry is anytime but the beast. Will Jenna realize there is more to life than a career?
In the meantime, the Hart family continues to entertain as they try to help the romance along. Sometimes unsuccessfully.
In the end, it’s another enjoyable story in this series.

Cute story

This was basically a story of a beautiful woman who uses her looks and body in addition to her talent to get what she wants and a hot former firefighter who got badly burned and became a different, less confident man. Throw in a cute puppy and you have an instrument to connect the two. It's a sweet romance with a lot of issues to get through. The narration wasn't the best. Jennifer Groberg has a pretty, feminine voice that is great for the female characters but when I am trying to picture hot firefighters I'd like to hear a strong male voice. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.

Loved everything about it...

Funny, sweet, and sad, this book took me on an emotional journey. This is a modern take on Beauty and the Beast.

The characters are great, they're easy to become attached to and I couldn't help feeling bad for them at times, Rachelle sure puts them through a lot. There's a lot of character development going into this series and it shows, the characters come alive off the page/recording and I couldn't help but want everything to work out.

There are minor spoilers for book one in this book but not enough to have to read them in order.

The narration worked really well, I thought it complimented the story really well. Excellent character voices and a natural flowing delivery.

This book was supplied free by the author/narrator/publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Another sweet listen!

I really enjoyed listening to this story. While I purchased this book and read in ebook format, I really love to listen to them Too! While the story ends the same 😉 it adds a dimension of personality to the characters. With this book these characters are very realistic, and as happens in life some take a while to warm up to. You can't help but fall in love with Larry right off the bat, Jenna takes a bit to warm up to. But stick with the storyline and it will be worth the investment of you time and money! Highly recommend this book!

WOW!!!

there's something so wonderful about being able to listen to a book instead of read it. For me it helps give more depth to the characters and the plot. This book I had read before but it was amazing to listen to it. It's one of those wonderful feel good romance novels. Rachelle Ayala delivers another wonderful novel.

LOVED IT!!!!

Any additional comments?

This audiobook was given to me for a honest unbiased review. I loved it. This not only has fireman, "sigh" but has real emotion. The emotional side of of being hurt on the job, as well as the lasting effects. He may feel negatively about them, but to many of us this shows she is a real hero. This was funny and sweet, can not wait for the next book.

Hart's Know How to Love

I had not previously read this story, and I think it made this audiobook that much better for me. I'm already in love with the Hart family, but never expected Jenna to fall for Big D. This was an emotional listen for me, both with happy and sad tears. Jennifer Groberg was able to bring a great depth to the story that I know I wouldn't have been able to get when reading the book. She's truly a talented narrator.

A good story best read after 'Christmas Lovebirds'.

Larry & Jenna make an interesting couple at first. Jenna's determination to make everything go her way and her willingness to pay whatever game to succeed was more than a little alarming. As she gets to know Larry, his straight forward honor touches her. I would have preferred seeing more of their time together while walking the dog so the transitions were more natural.

Jennifer Groberg did a great job bringing the story to life. I found myself crying a couple times. Signs of a good story.

I recieved a free Audible copy of this story in exchange for a honest review.

Always root for the underdog...

Having already fallen in love with the Hart after reading the series, listening to Ms. Groberg brought even more delight. Relaxing delivery and the heart she puts into bringing these characters to life, shines through each word she speaks and character she emotes. Serious subjects delivered with humor, heart and wisdom. Ms. Ayala is good at her craft. Her ability to deliver a story that has every element from laughter, to drama and optimism is one of the reasons I have become a fan. Larry, Jenna and a matchmaking pooch make for a charming combination. Valentine Hound Dog imparts a beautiful lesson in a light heartwarming way. Beauty is the culmination of heart, body and soul not flaws on the outer shell but the light that shines from within. I lost a piece of my heart within this cute tale.
