Publisher's summary

I stuck my dick in a different woman every night.

They lined up, pawing at me. All of them wanting to be part of the bad boy prestige that was Miller Hawes.

Then they flipped the river.

And she was mine. Sexy, compelling, and the first woman didn't fall at my feet. Why can't I get her out of my head?

I need to focus on taking over the family business. Except all my attention is on one thing and one thing only.

Tess.

AWESOME.. RB DELIVERED ON SO MANY LEVELS

Great second book in the series.. and every bit as good as the first.

He's a very bad boy.. loves the ladies and is set to take over the 'family business' when his father retires - that's the super-stud Miller Hawes who only keeps women in his bed long enough to scratch his sexual itch.. and then he unceremoniously kicks them out because nobody sleeps in his bed but him. Behind the legitimate facade of bars, a restaurant and a Garage lurks illegal gambling and much much more.. and it's there that Miller first sees the beautiful intriguing Tess. Then surprisingly, with a winning poker hand, Miller gets to spend the night with her because Tess' boyfriend hadn't enough cash so included one night with Tess to make up his stakes. He'd mistakenly thought his hand couldn't be beaten.. but he was dead wrong - coz, with the turn of a few cards, he'd not only lost the game to a very smug Miller he'd lost Tess too who was hopping mad she'd been used that way. And, when the angry woman tried to leave, Miller let her go.. but then gave her a good reason why she shouldn't.

Behind Miller's rough bad-boy mask was a soft side few people got to see so he wasn't about to force anything on the lovely sassy Tess.. but, after good food, good wine and good company Miller and Tess couldn't keep their hands off each other. And, after a great night together for once, Miller had no plans to kick a woman out of his bed.. he wasn't one and done and was actually looking forward to a repeat performance in the morning. However, by then Tess would be gone.. and that was going to leave Miller unhappy, distracted, confused over 'new' feelings, mad at himself and determined to lose himself in willing women.. but it didn't quite go to plan.

Because of bad parents and a bad situation, Tess had left home as soon as she could and now she's studying to be a Nurse.. vowing never to rely on anyone to support her so she's working hard to achieve her goal. But her scumbag ex had a gambling problem and she'd been won in a card game.. yes it'd resulted in the best night of her life, but he also owed money to a very bad man who was getting impatient and physically threatening her - so, yet again, Tess had to dig herself out of a bad situation. Fiercely independent Tess moves and also takes on a lucrative waitressing job in a Bar.. but, unknown to either one, Fate has once again put Tess and Miller in the same orbit.. and Tess soon finds out just who she's working for when a sexy voice she'd heard once before growls in her ear. And now Fate's gonna sit back, put her feet up, relax, munch on popcorn and watch the fireworks - because things are about to get good.

A very entertaining and exciting dual POV storyline that hooked me in from the start with a delusional ex, a vicious loan shark, good family dynamics and a push/pull romance where the badboy turns good.. wants to give his woman everything and discovers that she's fiercely independent, isn't interested in his money or his name.. and has a will of her own. Good build-up to the HEA, great secondary characters, sexcapades, a wee bit of violence, drama and a lot of angst because over and over this droolworthy possessive hero has to learn the hard way that his woman can't and won't be bought.. and she has to learn to bend a bit too.

Worth a credit? Yes.. a very addictive plot and a good real life narration team who stuck to their own gender's voices which made this a smooth listen.. and definitely a creditworthy one too.

Book 2

Any additional comments?

Miller is exactly who I thought he was, a womanizer who has no desire to settle down, ever. He likes his lifestyle and with his career he has no choice but to accept the fact that he is his only happily ever after since being burned by a woman in the past.

LOVE this series, LOVE the narrators!

Where does House Rules rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top ten, easy. The other book in the series, Traded, makes the list too. I've been waiting for this follow up!

What other book might you compare House Rules to and why?

Traded, the first in this series. But this is still its own animal. The writer does a great job of giving this book the same yummy flavor as the first, but making it a great stand alone story with a different hero and heroine who are in their own conflict.

Which scene was your favorite?

Oh, when he wins her! In more ways than one...

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

How he finally figures out that he needs her and why. Rebecca Brooke is wonderful in creating character ethos and pathos, their needs and the obstacles that prevent them from getting there until the HEA hits. Looks like there will be more coming from this series, yay!

Any additional comments?

These narrators make the books for me. Honey and Leeroy can handle all manner of female and male voices, I keep thinking there's a bigger cast here than just the two of them. Leeroy's deep voice is sexy as hell and keeps me tuned in all the way! Really makes the story comes to life for me. Want more, more, more from these two, please!

I really enjoyed this book. it was well written and very entertaining. I really liked the characters. i like strong women and bad boys.
the narration was great. I usually don't like the double narration but they work so well together and did a fantastic job. I would recommend this book to friends.

Worth watching the Bad Boy Find Love

I love it when a bad boy falls to his knees.
Rebecca Brooke knows just how to tell a story and make it an adventure. You won't be able to stop reading/listening.
Miller Hawes is the man that has women falling at his feet, but he never stays around long enough to help them further than the bed.
Tess isn't one to be controlled. She learned life lessons growing up and continues to try to stand on her own two feet. This is sometimes just a thought when she runs into the bad men that come into her life. But she continuously works on a change.
So finding herself forced into an evening with Miller, Tess definitely have that in her plans. And she definitely had no plan of going willingly.
This is another winner! It truly sucks you in and keeps you intrigued until the end.

Enjoyable Listen

The author was new to me while I have heard both narrators before. I found this book to be very enjoyable to listen, but the premise of the book so unbelievable. (What woman would allow or go along with the premise of this book). Besides being unrealistic, the story was fun. I enjoyed the suspense and the tension in this book. Both narrators added so much to the story with their performances. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was provided with this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A suspenseful & thrilling ride! Gotta love Miller!

I didn’t even realize that Miller was getting his own story! So imagine my excitement when I found out that Rebecca Brooke did give him his story with HOUSE RULES! Eek! I wouldn’t even say that I have a favorite between the two brothers – but Miller is definitely much more intense than Ashton, that’s for sure. Whew!

The Hawes brothers seem to follow the fashion to win their one woman – either by her being traded for a debt or, as in Miller’s case, by winning her in a poker game. What the hell? Yeah, Rebecca Brooke surely knows how to lure her readers in with the synopsis alone.

Miller does not believe in love and he does not make a secret out of it in front of the different women he beds every other night. Quick and casual encounters, that’s what he likes. It fits his altogether jackaxx persona he has to put on in his line of work perfectly fine: Preparing to take over his father’s company, mayhem, ruthlessness and corruption are on his daily agenda. A distraction isn’t what he needs right now at all. And yet all it takes is one game, one insane bet to twist his life around completely; because his prize isn’t at all like the other women: Tess challenged Miller and didn’t fall for his bad boy advances – he finally had to work to get into a woman’s panties! She is independent, feisty and sweet – which brings out a different side of him he never thought he possessed: He feels protective over her, and one thing becomes very clear: That one night he won with her will never be enough…

Miller needed a strong take-no-prisoners-woman to tame him, and Tess was just the perfect match for him. She stands up to him – something that no other woman ever dared before. And Miller … I loved his brutal honesty and that despite being a total manwhxre that he didn’t once deter from his quest in seducing and keeping Tess. Watching their chemistry and tension unfurl and strengthen as the story progressed definitely was fun.

Overall enjoyed this story very much, which definitely is lighter as its predecessor while still balancing on the darker side of romance. I also loved that we got to see more of Elena and Ashton – to see more of Elena coming out of her shell brought a huge smile on my face.

A suspenseful and thrilling ride with a bit of angst thrown into the mix. I’m looking forward to more (yes, this time I know that there’ll be more!) of the series!

Now I listened to the audiobook version of this story, which was once again narrated by Honey Scarlett and Leeroy Will. Those two are a well-rehearsed team when it comes to duet narration and I loved Honey’s soft tone in contrast to Leeroy’s rumbly timbre. They portrayed each character perfectly and will be looking for more of their works.

Another great listen

Another great listen from the pen of Rebecca Brooke book 2 in the traded series abley narrated bu Leeroy and Honey whos standard is first rate as always , you can picture Miller so well with tone of Leeroys voice and the same with Honey and Tess .
I like Tess's strength of character she fights back, Miller wants to engulf her with his protection one night was never going to be enough for him ,and she has to learn a new way and to trust .
I look forward to the next instalment from all concerned.

Thankyou , this was gifted to me by the narrators in return of an honest review I whole heartedly give in 5 stars all the way

My favorite narrators, and a great story!

Would you consider the audio edition of House Rules to be better than the print version?

Yes! This narration team is my favorite! They compliment each other well and bring life to the characters. They both have great voice acting range also.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the wide range of characters. Miller and his family are my favorite. They all are unique and the author easily makes the reader care about them. I loved that even though I haven't read the first book in this series yet I was able to read this one without any problems. I felt like the author did a good job of making sure you don't feel like you missed anything - but of course I'd like to read the first now!

Which scene was your favorite?

I enjoy the opening! It does a great job of pulling you into the story and peaking your interest.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! This book is very hard to put down. The story keeps you interested and goes at the perfect pace - not too fast or slow.

Any additional comments?

This is more than just your typical romance novel - it has a fantastic story and great characters!

Tess and Miller

This book was so good. I love that Tess had such a strong affect on Miller since he was such a man whore who only used women to scratch an itch then he was done with them. Tess was given to Miller to cover her boyfriend's gambling debt. The narrators were outstanding.
