In Touched by Love...

Fiercely independent Janie Jansen has always believed there were worse things in life than being blind, and she's spent her life proving it. She's moved away from her overprotective parents and built a life in New York City and is one of the top technical editors in her company. That is until an unfortunate accident turns her life upside down and she's forced to give up the very independence she's worked so hard to achieve.

Firefighter Boyd Hudson pushed past his tragic past and is weeks away from accomplishing his ultimate dream - being accepted into medical school. His intense focus on his goal while working three jobs has taken its toll. With a trail of failed relationships behind him, Boyd is painstakingly aware of his limitations and avoids girlfriends completely - a difficult task given his attraction to one of his coworkers.

When Boyd comes to Janie's rescue, she's forced to accept his help, and Janie discovers there's more to the sexy-sounding office flirt than one-liners. Their connection deepens as Janie heals, but it turns out that Janie isn't the only one who needs healing. Boyd's painful past comes back to haunt him, threatening their relationship and forcing Boyd to reevaluate everything he knows about himself.

Janie & Boyd

Melissa Foster has always delivered fantastic characters in her books but Boyd and Janie are extraordinary. While they are strong people we don't realize just how strong and independent they both are as they overcome obstacles in this beautiful relationship. As their story unfolds we see how their individual pasts have molded them into the people they are today. I don't want to spoil a bit of this plot for you so I will only summarize to say that Janie has taken a fall in the subway and panics as she calls out for help. I felt tense as I continued reading about her dilemma until coworker Boyd realizes he has walked away with her phone and needs to return to the subway discovering that Janie has been injured. As Boyd helps her recover, their feelings grow for one another. This is a beautiful story of two people who find each other somewhat unexpectedly. Melissa Foster weaves magic in this book as various characters become part of the story. It must have taken a significant amount of research by the author to describe the challenges Janie experiences navigating the world. BJ Harrison’s narration was a pleasure to listen to. He created auditory interest with the voices he used for different characters. I loved this audiobook. A must read/listen. I hope it touches your heart as much as it touched mine.

Touching story

I have been waiting for this book to come out for a while. Melissa Foster did not disappoint! This story makes you see love in a different light. It is very raw and emotional.

Boyd suffered a horrible tragedy as a child and has carried guilt from that ever since. He has secrets that he has kept bottled up never telling a soul. Then along come Janie.

Janie was born with a degenerative eye disease that has left her blind but very independent. Tragedy strikes when she falls and gets hurt relying on the help of Boyd to help her do simple tasks and maneuver around while she heals.

Sparks being to fly and Janie and Boyd begin to help each other heal from the eternal and external pain they both endure. BJ Harrison is the narrator and once again he hits it out of the park. He tells it in a way that you are able to invision how Janie sees the world. You will not be disappointed in this home run of a story.

Love Heals

Janie is blind, but very independent. She moved away from her over protective parents, and moved to New York. She is now a top technical editor. And if you try to treat her like a disabled blind person she will put you in her place. She has strived hard to become independent, and she is determined to do almost all things alone. She does let her best friend KiKi help her out just a little.

Boyd, is a firefighter, and that’s dream is to go to medical school. He is working 3 jobs, and burning his self out. He has been responsible for his siblings since his parents were tragically killed. He has had quite his fair share of failed relationships, and has not had any interest in dating until he met Janie.

Janie takes a subway to work everyday, and one day her heel catches and she has now hurt her self to the point that she does have to ask for help. And Boyd is there for her. Janie teaches him how her dark world works, and she starts healing him and saving him from his dark world.

They will make you happy, sad, and rejoice. BJ Harrison’s voice is perfect and relaxing for this up and down wills of love.’
One of the best heart stopping books by Melissa Foster. Because love does heal.

Emotionally powerful story...

Touched by Love is book six in the Love in Bloom: The Remingtons series. Of all the books I have read or listened to lately, this one is by far the most powerful. The story felt so real, the emotions so potent. I enjoyed listening to this narrator, and I absolutely loved this story. I HIGHLY recommend it.

5 Stars for Boyd and Janie!

It had been a while since I had first read the kindle version of this book, so getting to revisit these two characters in the audio version was a real treat. As always, BJ Harrison is a fantastic narrator that brings the characters to life in every book he narrates, and brings depth and emotion to each story. I found myself sucked in yet again by the story of Boyd and Janie from start to finish. Janie's strength and desire to be independent was so endearing, I wanted to be a part of the story, a part of their world, just so that I could be a friend of hers somehow!

While I always want to recommend the Kindle version of books first, i have to recommend the Audible version of Touched by Love by Melissa Foster first. Her stories and audio books are always very well done!

Beautiful Story!

I love Melissa Foster's writing. This is the sixth book in the Series, but you can easily listen to it as a standalone. Wow! I love Janie and Boyd's story! I was hooked from the first page to the end. Their chemistry is evident and strong. More than that, they save each other from their darkness. This is now my favorite couple. Janie is a beautiful, independent, strong and feisty woman! Boyd is handsome, strong, supportive and protective. Their story is sweet and heartwarming. The narration is great and easy to listen. I love BJ Harrison's soft and sexy voice. . Honestly, this story deserved more than five stars review. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

One of my favorite Melissa Foster stories

I listened to this book after reading it in print when it was released 2 years ago. It is STILL one of my favorites! B.J. Harrison was spot on as usual for the narration.

I was instantly drawn to the characters. I was so invested that I frequently felt my stomach flip flop with anticipation. Janie’s strong, independent personality fit so perfectly with Boyd’s drive, determination, and protectiveness. I especially loved the sweet, emotional moments they shared together.

I love how Melissa continues to be able to create characters that come from a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and challenges. Keep them coming!

Independent Love

I LOVED listening to this story after having already read it...and what can I say about Janie and Boyd other than...WOW!! What a beautiful story between two people who have more in common than what they first believe. Boyd is tortured from the loss of his parents years earlier, where he suffered externally, as well as internally. It took everything within him to allow Janie to see the real him. But his overprotective ways cause tension in their perfect relationship.
Janie is fiercely independent, despite her blindness. She doesn't let that stop her from doing anything she wants to in order to move on with her life. She doesn't want ANYONE to treat her differently because of the simple fact that she cant see. She's comfortable with Boyd and what their relationship makes her feel. He doesn't hold her back and treats her normally, making extra effort to help her see life and the world around them. But then comes his overprotective nature that throws her for a loop and she doesn't know if she can move past it.
After an accident where she thought she lost the love of her life, they both agree to work on moving past their own issues to allow for their HEA to happen the way it should...Together!

Oh Boyd, you melt my heart.

I love a good romance book. While the story stays the same whether reading or listening to the book I find myself learning new things about the characters that I missed when I was reading compared to listening to the book. I also catch myself feeling a different emotion when listening vs. reading the book. With Melissa Foster's books BJ Harrison is the perfect voice for her characters. He brings so much feeling, so much heart, and makes the characters come alive to the listener.

Oh Boyd. You melted my heart. I felt like Boyd should be a tough, hard to reach, bad boy fireman. He tried to be but he failed. He is so soft, cuddly, lovable, and needing love that I could not help by fall for him. Touched by Love is his story. Sure Janie is in it, there has to be a woman to fall for, but this book is all about Boyd. This is the story of a boy who lost his parents and took on the roll of mother and father to his siblings. It is the story of a man who has never properly dealt with the loss of his parents. This is the story of a man who will do anything to protect, guide, and love those who are dearest to him.

Janie is in need of a rescue and Boyd is in the right place at the right time to rescue her. She pushed him away, he pushes himself closer to her, the tug of war was so fun to watch. I knew it would be equally gratifying for them both when they came to accept they were meant for each other. There was no disappointment when they did finally realize that they had to be together.

I was incredibly impressed by the way Janie was portrayed. Being blind could be seen as a handicap but in Melissa Foster’s world it is appreciated and enhances the sense of Janie. She knows her limitations and then says she can surpass them all. She asks for help when she absolutely has to and pushes away help when she knows she can do it on her own. I loved how Janie called people out on treating her differently and expected no special treatment due to her lack of sight.

I have read all the Love in Bloom books thus far and always look forward to more. The characters make appearances in each other books but each book is a standalone story. I recommend picking up Boyd and Janie’s story then going back and picking up the rest of this series. They are all amazing.
