Great for a Ramsey newbie; waste of time for followers

I am a Dave Ramsey fan to the core. I am always being made fun of at the office and then a minute later asked financial questions based on Dave's teachings. I am even starting a financial peace class in the next few months.

This book is extremely helpful for anyone Who is starting out with the program/ideas.

But for someone like me, who has read a lot of his books and listens to the show daily. This book was a total waste of time, Chris is a great personality and I love to listen to him. I did enjoy the few facts that he did provide, like the history of retirement. But as a whole this book was a regurgitation of Dave's own words and really did not bring anything new to the table. As a hard-core fan, I was extremely excited to listen to this book, but it was disappointing .

Great book, but it's missing the foreword

this was a great book. If you read other books by Dave Ramsey it's quite similar , but it's a new story with a new reader, it's a new way of saying things but it's quite the same message in the end. I really appreciate what Dave Ramsey team and what Chris did with this book. the only thing I didn't like is that it is missing the foreword by Dave Ramsey. the foreword is mentioned multiple times in the book without being present. you have a great voice Mr Hogan. I am looking forward your next book. Thanks

Young Investors Stay Away

As someone new to investing (25) I went into this hoping to gain a good foundation to start preparing for my distant retirement. I can honestly say I could summarize all the helpful points in this entire book in about 4 minutes. 3 hours into the book and he’s still saying things like “it’s time you started preparing for your future and learn the steps you need to take to get there.” .... yes, obviously.... that was my intention when I purchased this book. People looking to gain any technical knowledge don’t waste your time. This is just a 10 hour morale booster for people who didn’t invest when they were younger and are now rushing to catch up.

A lot of stories but not specific direction

I was disappointed in this book. after reading Dave Ramsey's Total Money Makeover I expected this to be part two but instead it's mostly just stories and theories without specific Direction.I feel like this could be boiled down into a check list of five items instead of a 8 Hour book. I did listen to it all the way through and enjoyed hearing some of the stories, but I expected it to be more Hands-On Direction like Total Money Makeover and it is not

while the book is full of fun anecdotes and stories, I did not find any of the information new to me. highly disappointed as Dave Ramsey has been hyping this book on his show for many weeks.

Full of fillers

The book is like someone sat down to write 5000 word paper for high school and when completed realized they had 421 words. The rest is filler and repetition.

How Old Are You?

Would you consider the audio edition of Retire Inspired to be better than the print version?

Yes, it is narrated by the author with his booming voice.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I couldn't stop listening. It only took me a few days to get through it.

Any additional comments?

This book is great for any adult no matter what stage of life you are in. The information in this book is very valuable to anyone who wants to change their family tree. I'm almost thirty and I'm so thankful I picked this book up when I did. I will retire inspired and I'm taking the steps to make my future bright financially. I have figured out how much I need to put in each month and what my final number RIQ will be so I can live in my senior years comfortably and without worries about money. Thanks Chris Hogan!

Awesome!!!

I absolutely enjoyed the book!!! I gave it all stars because it explained everything you want to know in detail. I learned so much even retirement information I knew was broken down in a way a beginner can understand and someone with great knowledge can take away something new. I would recommend to all my friends and family !! Great job Mr. Hogan !!!

401K Investing Level

If you are on a different level than 401k investing than this book is thinkin too small for you. If you haven't even started any type of investing and are looking at 401k investing than this book could be generally helpful. Author does a great job at narrating his book.

Solid information

Very good information. Not a whole lot that was new to me as a loooooong time Dave Ramsey follower. New and recent followers will find lots of new ideas.
