Should She Stay or Go?

Tease Me Baby is the second book (novella) in the O’Connor family series by Katie Reus. It takes place in the town of Holly – where it is Christmas 365 days a year. Fallon O’Connor is one step away from following her dreams (or so she thinks). She is always trying to please someone (usually her mother) and thinks that attending pastry school will do this. After a scorching encounter with Brad Fulton, the town Sheriff and all around boy scout, Fallon is torn between school and staying with Brad. The plot was fairly well developed for a novella and the characters were believable. Although this is the second novella (book) in the series, and you do see appearances by prior characters, I think it could be read as a stand-alone quite easily. Ms. Reus’ books are generally an automatic purchase for me. Her plots are well written, the characters are well developed and their interactions are believable.

I listened to this book in the car when travelling. Sophie Eastlake does an excellent job with the narration of this book. She has the nuances of the characters down and actually makes you feel like they are the ones talking to you, as you listen. There were no discernable pauses or miscues in the narration.

He isn't taking NO for an answer

I absolutely loved this book. Sophie Eastlake did a wonderful job narrating. If you love a sweet romance with just enough spice then this would be a great place to start although there is a book one which I am sure you would enjoy also.

Loved this book!

Would you listen to Tease Me, Baby again? Why?

TEASE ME AGAIN BABY
This is one of my very favorite books by Katie Reus. Katie always spins a story with great characters, steamy hot sex in a well written tale. Once again, Sophie Eastlake is the narrator. She always does a wonderful job. This is the story of Fallon and Brad. He is the local sheriff and she is a woman that wants to go to culinary school. One hot kiss from the sheriff changes everything she thought she wanted. I so enjoyed this book!

A wonderful low-angst romance!!!!!

What made the experience of listening to Tease Me, Baby the most enjoyable?

The experience of listening to Tease Me, Baby was so enjoyable due to the whole package which included the well-plotted storyline, the believable and likable characters, the small-town setting of Holly, North Carolina where it is Christmas year-round and the very capable performance of Sophie Eastlake. It's simply a wonderful low-angst romance.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character was hot alpha Brad Fulton, small-town Holly’s Sheriff.Brad is a respected, responsible, Captain America type and Fallon believes she’s not good enough for him. But, as Brad said so well: "Maybe I’m not the Boy Scout you think I am."

Brad knows that Fallon is the woman for him but she’s avoiding him like the plague. He thinks she and her career can thrive in Holly with him and that she doesn’t need a culinary degree as she’s already an accomplished chef and can be successful without it. But, not only does he have to convince Fallon that her future is in Holly with him, but he has to get her overprotective brothers to accept him too.

What about Sophie Eastlake’s performance did you like?

Sophie Eastlake is the very capable narrator for Tease Me, Baby. She has capably voiced many of Katie’s audios and does another excellent job with Tease Me, Baby. She consistently differentiated between the characters’ voices and exuded the appropriate emotions making for an easy, pleasurable listening experience. Sophie’s performance positively enhanced an already enjoyable read. If you enjoy listening to audio books, I’d highly recommend that you check out the audio edition.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

One of my favorite cute slightly naughty scenes involved a family dinner after Brad had been coerced into playing a brutal game of hockey with Fallon’s safeguarding brothers. Here’s a short excerpt from that sweet and steamy scene which took place in Fallon’s family’s guest bathroom:

Laughing, she stood and held out a hand, “You need any first aid?”
“Nah. Your kisses did the trick.”

Any additional comments?

Tease Me, Baby is the perfect read for an entertaining, quick escape. It features charming and genuine characters in a light romance with a highly satisfying HEA. If you are looking for a fun, fast-paced, intriguing and sexy romance, you won’t go wrong with Tease Me, Baby!

Home - Where The Heart Is

Holly, North Carolina is a wonderful place to live. Fallon O'Connor loves it here. Why did she register at a culinary school in California? She knows it's to make her parents proud. The problem is that now that she's seeing Brad Fulton, the local sheriff, she wants to stay in her hometown. Is there a HEA in her future? Fallon comes from a loving family with three over protective brothers. I loved how she stands up to them. She's feisty and not afraid to go after what she desires. Brad is attracted to Fallon. He's determined to make her his. Their chemistry is powerful. He's such a good and honorable man. I enjoyed seeing them together. I was pulled into this story by the passionate characters and the charming setting. It's filled with good and caring people. I would love to visit Holly. Katie Reus never disappoints and the narration by Sophie Eastlake brings these characters to life. I enjoyed this fast-paced, romantic story. It left me feeling happy.

Brad and Fallon: Good boy and the bad girl romance

This novella was short but enjoyable. The narrator, Sophie Eastlake, is one of my favorites so I knew I was in for a treat. The story was set up as a good boy – bad girl trope. I didn’t read book 1 so I felt like I was missing a little of Fallon and Brad’s history. It was clear though, that the attraction that developed between the two was reciprocal.

Brad is the kind of guy I would want my daughter to marry. He is the sheriff, he is respected and he is completely responsible. Fallon wasn’t as wishy-washy as she appeared. She just held her cards close to the vest and didn’t share her dreams because she was afraid of visible failure.

These two had great chemistry and they actually communicated about their expectations and wishes for the future. For a novella, it was developed nicely and felt complete.

The narrator Sophie Eastlake did a wonderful job with this book. She did a great job with the different voices of each character in this book. It was very easy to listen to and I didn’t want to stop listening until the end.

If you are looking for a great book with well-developed characters then you need to listen to this book. I am looking forward to listening to the next book by this author and narrator.
