Publisher's summary

Daisy Honey fled Trusty, Colorado, after years of battling rumors sparked by her gorgeous looks and lust-inducing name. Now a physician on the brink of a promising career, she reluctantly returns home when her father is injured in a farming accident. Daisy expects the small-town girls who hurt her in the past to take cheap shots again - but she's completely unprepared for a run-in with tall, dark, and wickedly sexy Luke Braden, the only man who has ever stood up for her - and the man she's never forgotten.

Luke Braden is handsome, wealthy, and the best damn gypsy horse breeder in the Midwest. After a restless youth, he's finally ready to settle down - only connecting with women is nothing like connecting with horses, and he's never met a woman worth the energy. After an arrest in a neighboring town, Luke's past comes back to haunt him, and he realizes that his inability to find love runs deeper than he ever imagined.

A chance encounter sweeps Luke and Daisy into a world of passion. For the first time ever, Luke feels a connection, but Daisy's life in Trusty is anything but permanent, and Luke can't manage a future until he puts his past to rest.

Taken by Love is part of the Love in Bloom series. While it can be heard as a stand-alone novel, for even more enjoyment, you may want to listen to the entire Love in Bloom series in order. Characters from each sub-series appear in future books.

Fun and Sassy Romance

Would you consider the audio edition of Taken by Love to be better than the print version?

Since I hadn't read this title in print I can't answer this question, however I purchased it because it sounded like it might be a light-hearted romance that would be fun to listen to at work and it completely exceeded my expectations. I really enjoyed the story line and am not looking into more of the series.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved so many things about the story. I was looking for something fun and I found it.

Which scene was your favorite?

There is a scene in the book where the community comes together to run a clinic. I loved the whole thing.

Love me some Luke Braden

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this because I love Melissa Fosters writing and am a big fan of her Love in Bloom series.

What other book might you compare Taken by Love to and why?

I would compare this book to Destined for Love by Melissa Foster. Luke works with horses and Daisy is a doctor who helps take care of sick people in the community, Rex also works with horses and Jade is a Vet who helps take care of sick animals.

Have you listened to any of B.J. Harrison’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have and it is just as good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes. I want to listen to all of Melissa Fosters books in one sitting.

Love Will Find You When You Least Expect It

What did you love best about Taken by Love?

The romance of course, but the strength of the two main characters who each had real life issues to face and deal with. Their willingness to help each other overcome them made it easy to see why they fell in love with each other.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Luke Braden was an amazing man who possessed wonderful traits. He was so protective of those in need, kind, patient and loving with his horses, loyal to friends and family and selfless when it came to loving Daisy. Add to that his masculine good looks and he was swoon worthy.

Have you listened to any of B.J. Harrison’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my very first, but won't be my last.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I usually get swept along with Melissa Foster's characters.I found the sibling banter amusing, the love scenes steamy and the romance sweet. The real life issues the characters faced (bullying, abandonment, chemical dependency, letting go of the past) did affect me emotionally.

Any additional comments?

This is more than just a love story. It's about character's growth as they endure and push forward helping each other and finding their own HEA along the way. A highly enjpyable experience.

Will Dr. Daisy find a new home?

Loved this sweet story by Melissa Foster. Daisy Honey left Trusty, Colorado behind to pursue her dream of being a doctor--and to escape an undeserved rumor that destroyed her reputation. She comes home to Trusty to help her family out while she thinks about job offers she has in the big city, and while working in the small urgent care clinic she starts to fall in love with the town again, as well as handsome Luke Braden who stood up for her so many years ago. With the air between them heating up and almost literally sparking--the chemistry of these two lead characters is HOT. I loved the narration of the audio book--the dialogue and story flows well.

Beautiful Small Town Romance ❤️

Beautiful Small Town Romance ❤️
Daisy Honey had a tough time time in high school because the girls spread lies about her and ruined her reputation. She was happy to leave Trusty CO behind and go to school to become a doctor. She returns home to help her father and runs into Luke, who Daisy had a crush on and was the only one that stuck up for her in school. This meeting starts up their friendship again and their journey into their beautiful romance. Daisy is also struggling with trying to figure out where she wants to take a permanent job as a doctor outside of Trusty when she realizes that the people who used to treat her badly in school were now being friendly to her and she was also falling in love with Luke. I also really enjoyed all the other characters in this book. This is another wonderful Braden romance you don't want to miss. The narration was very good.

Carear and love

Melissa Foster is an author I have come to love with the few books I’ve read by her. She has a way of writing clean and sweet stories that touch our hearts and that make us loose ourselves into the characters’ lives. So whenever I am in the mood for something innocent and nice, I choose her books!

“Taken by Love” is one of those books. Being in audio format, it definitely enhanced my experience and helped me pay attention to some details I would have otherwise probably missed. Daisy and Luke start something that is from the beginning with an expiration date. Daisy has no intention of staying in Trusty, where people are anything but trustful and where false rumors start from nothing. She just has to choose from several job opportunities in major cities. As a doctor, she has the chance to practice in the big hospitals, not in an emergency only clinic in a small town. But a relationship with her high school crush was never in her plans.

Their relationship is focused more on Daisy, as she is the one who has to decide where to go. But Luke is one character that develops as the story flows. He has his own family issues to solve and is willing to deal with them. I see him as stronger and with a clearer mind when it comes to dealing with issues, while Daisy takes her time with her trouble. Still, I liked them together, I liked how they support each other and I like Luke’s thinking ahead. Read the book, and you’ll understand what I mean.

The author raises awareness on a couple of important issues like healthcare and abuse and this is something I respect a lot! Both subjects are treated with the attention they deserve, especially in case of the latter.

The narration was great as well. I liked how B.J. Harrison kept the accent, how he changed his voice to differentiate not only between characters, but as well between their personalities. One scene comes to mind when Luke has a conversation with Daisy’s father and the respect Luke has for the man can be felt through the voice acting.

All in all, I liked the book very much, as any Melissa Foster book. I cannot wait to see what happens to the other bothers and I do hope you give it a try as well. Happy reading/ listening!

I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Melissa Foster. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.
