Publisher's summary

A trip down memory lane is fine if you don't stumble on a body. Frannie Shoemaker and her friends camp at Old Dam Trail State Park near one of Donna Nowak's childhood homes. They take in the county fair, reminisce at a Fifties-Sixties dance, and check out old hangouts. But the present intrudes when a body surfaces. Donna becomes the focus of the investigation and Frannie wonders if the police shouldn’t be looking closer at the victim’s many enemies. A traveling goddess worshiper, a mystery writer and the Sisters on the Fly add color to the campground.

Yes I listened to the audiobooks in this series narrated by Michelle Babb

Any additional comments?

Every time I listen to one of the books in this series I want to go camping! Frannie, her husband Larry and their friends manage to get involved in another crime while camping at Old Dam Trail State Park. Each book in this series builds upon the different people in the stories and this one focuses more on Donna

The Lady of the Lake

What made the experience of listening to The Lady of the Lake the most enjoyable?

Michelle Babb's relaxed way of narrating. The way she brings the characters to life and doesn't try to be overly dramatic allows the story to flow.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Lady of the Lake?

When it appeared the Lady of the Lake might have actually been spotted

Which character – as performed by Michelle Babb – was your favorite?

I liked the barefoot woman. Her character was so much different than the others and I felt like she added a little something extra to the story.

Great For A Daily Car Commute

Listened during my daily commute. Just the right energy for a car listen.
Good flow and development.
First book from this author (I will be listening to more). The narrator is quite good and always worth a listen.

The Lady of the Lake

This is such a fun series! I feel like I know these characters and would love to go camping with them (even though they seem to stumble upon an awful lot of murders!).

This time, the 3 couples have traveled to Old Dam Trail State Park to go to the local fair. This happens to be a place from Donna Nowak's childhood and unfortunately, a place with not so great memories. Of course, our friends find a dead body and Frannie is once again caught up in a murder investigation. But, this time it's more personal since one of their own is accused of the murder!

The author has written a fun, quick cozy mystery, full of campground antics, quirky characters and a well-written story. I always know that I will enjoy a book in this series and this one does not disappoint.

The narrator does an amazing job (as usual) and her performance adds a lot to this book.

Book 4 - Lady of the Lake

Frannie and her friends have not only stumbled on another dead body but one of their group is arrested for the murder. How will Frannie and her former policeman husband get out of this one? Lots of fun and a good cozy mystery. With some twists and turns to the plot, the author keeps you guessing to the end as to the culprit.

Entertaining, quick read

Another Frannie Shoemaker mystery! This is my second in the series. I continued getting to know the characters and enjoy the descriptions of their adventures. I found it easy to listen to the narrator's pleasant voice. It kept my attention trying to figure things out. I look forward to the next one!

A well written mystery!

I like any mystery that makes it difficult to figure out "who-dunnit" until late in the book. I liked the characters. They were fun and likeable. The humor was laugh inducing and well done. The narrator does a great job differentiating between characters and is pleasant to listen to. You'll enjoy this book!
