Publisher's summary

Will her cat ruin her Christmas chance for love?

Bella Tallahan has always hidden behind her twin sister, Tally. She was born with cerebral palsy and even though she has finished college, she lives vicariously through her sister's adventures.

It worked, until her sister married writer Lucky Lenigan, and Bella developed a crush on Lucky's brother - a bad boy with a shady past.

Chance Martin made one mistake growing up - one that landed him in prison. After his release, he spends his days restoring antique furniture and his nights alone.

When Mr. Klutz, Bella's fat tabby cat, wreaks havoc in the furniture workshop, Chance confronts Bella and finds himself with a dilemma. He's not the right kind of guy for a woman with disabilities, but at the same time, he can't get her out of his mind.

Will the trail of destruction left by one naughty cat bring Bella her Christmas chance for love? Can Chance rise above his past and convince Bella that she is truly worth loving? Or will the secret he is keeping horrify Bella enough to send her back into hiding?

Author's Note: Although part of the Christmas Creek Romance Series, Her Christmas Chance is a complete and standalone story. Bella Tallahan appears in a previous story, Lucky in Laguna, where her sister Tally Tallahan meets and falls in love with Lucky Lenigan.

Great Love Story!!

I think this is the first book I have read/listened to that had a person with special needs as the heroine. I loved how the author depicted Bella and then loved how the narrator brought her to life. Yes, she has challenges, but she is also a very capable and independent person who is looking to live her life and all the while hopes that love might be in the mix as well.
Chance comes from a broken home and doesn't believe that anyone could love him after he spent 10 years in prison and came from such a broken family.

I think I listened to this book start to finish in one day. The story was compelling and the narrator did a fabulous job of bringing each and every character to life. Highly recommend this book and the author!

Heartwarming Redemption

Where does Her Christmas Chance rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Her Christmas Chance rates high among my favorite audio books because this is a wonderful story that highlight just how powerful and life changing love truly is. The audio version of this book made an even stronger impact on my heart and had me in are of just how incredible these fantastic characters are and how beautiful the storyline is.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved how Chance and Bella saw each other for who they really are. They didn't see the devastating disability or the dark past.Love allowed them to see the beauty and the potential that the other had to complete them and make them happier then they ever dreamed. Chance and Bella opened their heart to the other and never denied the comfort and joy that the other brought to their cold, dull life. Watching these two blossom was a breath catching sight to behold.

Which character – as performed by Kate Marcin – was your favorite?

Bella wa my favorite character because she never creased to amaze Chance with her limitless well of love, courage, and determination. She never gave up on Chance when he gave up on himself. She finally found love and hope in a bright future, and she wasn't giving Chance up for anything for anyone. She wanted him, and she fought for him until he finally saw in him what she saw ever time she looked at him.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The beauty of the heart can never truly be understood by the mind. It can only be cherished, treasured, and savored.

Any additional comments?

This is a powerful and fantastic addition to this wonderful series by Rachelle Ayala. I can't wait to see what she creates next!

Heartwarming and Inspiring!

The audiobook Her Christmas Chance: A Christmas Creek Romance, Book 2 by Rachelle Ayala, narrated by Kate Marcin will warm your heart and inspire you to go after the one you've been dreaming about for so long! I truly enjoyed listening to this audiobook about following your heart and finiding the happiness you deserve. Sometimes in life we are too scared to go for what we want because the idea of failing or being rejected seems scarier than putting yourself out there for all to see. What if people laugh at you? What if you get turned down? What if the truth is something you don't want to hear? Well...guess what? Living life never knowing is worse! If you love someone, go find out if they feel the same! If you don't take a daring leap into the unknown, unpredictable world of 💗love💗, you might live your entire life wondering...what if...? Noooo! It IS okay if you get rejected or if it doesn't work out because then you can at least move on with a fresh start from there....and, you will know the truth. If you need a little inspiration, encouragement, or push in the right direction, this wonderful story by Rachelle Ayala might help you take that next step!

Once again, Rachelle Ayala shows her outstanding story telling ability, while also drawing awareness to certain conditions and/or disorders that some people may not know much about. In this audiobook, main character Bella has Cerebral Palsy. Not knowing much about Cerebral Palsy, I am glad I chose this book to listen to. I feel like I have become more familiar with what it is, the causes behind it, and the symptoms. Thank you so much for creating such an amazing character. This book is so much more than an entertaining story...it teaches, informs, inspires, and loves from all angles. :-)

The narration by Kate Marcin is equally amazing. She does an excellent job! As a listener of this genre, I couldn't ask for anything more from her performance. I loved it!

Overall, this audiobook deserves 5/5 stars across the board! I recommend it to fans of romance, sweet love, and stories where our beloved pets are actual characters, too! Listening to Bella's story and watching her grow over time, reminded me of a quote from the movie - We Bought a Zoo (Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson). It said, "Sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage, and I promise you something great will come out of it." So, as you can see, it doesn't matter if you succeed or fail, what matters is taking that next step...it could change your life! Good things will come your way...whether it be courage, confidence, love, or money, taking a blind leap toward our goals, wants, and dreams is sometimes necessary! This book reminded me to stop wondering and waiting for life to come to me...instead, I need to go out and make my dreams a happy reality, so I can finally start living the life I deserve! Thank you!!

Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope it was helpful. :-)

Sweet love story

I loved how the author brought together 2 people who had many odds against them. Chance felt unlovable with his prison history and Bella had cerebral palsy. Both felt less than perfect and undeserving of true happiness. Their journey to love was not easy, which made the story perfect. I thought the narrator did a wonderful job with the various characters and distinguishable voices. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. This book is part of a series and a standalone listen. I will most definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator. Love, hope, and forgiveness are the main themes I took away from this story.

A touching story

The author took a risk that few dare, by writing a story about a character with cerebral palsy. She manages to open our eyes to the disorder and at least for me, erase some misconceptions. For that, thank you.
Bella Tallahan is a young woman from an overprotective family, while she thrives independence. She lives by herself in a cottage in her twin sister’s property. A mischievous cat and dog, are her companions while she works on her online business.
She has developed a crush on Chance Martin, her sister’s brother-in-law, and a man that spent 10 years in prison. Her crazy cat, Mr. Klutz, brings them together when he tears through Chance’s workshop.
This book is much more than the story about these two individuals who are facing challenges and at times, prejudices. It’s a story about surviving abuse, family dynamics, forgiveness, hope and finding love where you least expect it.
Kate Marcin does a great job with the various voices.

Love is Forgiveness

A wonderful story of an ex-con and a disabled woman, both feeling unworthy of love. But love knows no bounds and accepts us as we are. I received a complimentary audio and I am voluntarily reviewing.

Ayala never veers away from tough subject matters.

I'm not sure how many Rachelle Ayala books I've listened to, but she never ceases to surprise me by the things she is willing to take on in her writing. In this book, the main character has cerebral palsy. Ayala is straightforward in handling the difficulties of the condition and just tosses it all out there for the reader--drooling, having to use a sippy cup as an adult or living without being able to use the stove to cook. Bella faces all those things, but is determined to live her own life.
The hero of the story, Chance, has faced his own struggles in life and feels as though no one will ever accept him due to his past. The beauty of the two characters together is that they can see through the crud everyone else sees and give the other the love and acceptance they so badly crave.
Once again, Ayala gives way more than your average Christmas story. I lift my glass to her for dealing with the hard subjects with such sensitivity as well as realism! What a beautiful romance for these characters!

Exceptional!

Book 1 in this series was good, however book 2 is exceptional! The author deals with a very difficult subject with skill, thoughtfulness and finesse. Chance has a very tragic past and needs to deal with his demons and get on with his life. Bella has been coddled by her family all her life and just wants to be treated normally and live her own life, even if it means making mistakes. Chance and Bella are good for each other and their relationship blossoms in such a sweet way. I really enjoyed this story, even though some of the subject matter was difficult to listen to. I had to pause the book a few times to wipe my tears! This book is a standalone and definitely worth listening to. Once again Kate Marcin does the story justice with her narration. This book was given to me for free and I provided this voluntary review.

...every teardrop worth crying

For me reading a story is like watching a movie. In my mind there's an image of how the scene will play out, but it doesn't always end up that way. Her Christmas Chance is like a wonderful gift. It inspires and entertains while waking up even the blackest of hearts. The words were all there, the beauty was evident, all that Bella and Chance needed was the perfect voice to bring their fairy tale to life. Kate Marcin proved the right person for that tough job. It's only fitting that since the author put so much of herself on display that the narrator do likewise. Ms. Marcin made every teardrop worth crying and every smile a well earned reward.
