Publisher's summary

What happens when different worlds collide and love gets caught in the middle?

Garrett Hamilton is the quintessential ladies' man, a sexy, wealthy corporate lawyer whose work keeps him far too busy to think about romance. Yet he's lost his drive to win cases and finds himself hopping on a plane to visit his brother at Last Frontier Lodge in Alaska. Delia Peters is a single mother who learned the hard way that lust often doesn't translate to love. She figures life is good enough if she can pay the bills. Love is the stuff of dreams, not real life.

Garrett has spent so many years driven almost entirely by his work that he's at loose ends. He's hoping an unplanned escape will refresh and renew him. He didn't count on Delia nearly bringing him to his knees with her unassuming beauty. One kiss and he's lost. A man whose career was built on his ability to spin any situation to his advantage finds himself stumbling when faced with a woman whose mere presence rattles his control.

Delia is finally finding some stability with a new job as the chef at the local ski lodge. She's so accustomed to the busy pace of single motherhood that the thought of romance hasn't crossed her mind in years. She's entirely unprepared for the scorching hot attraction between her and Garrett. One kiss sends her reeling...and wanting more than she ever imagined.

Delia and Garrett can't deny the depth of desire that simmers between them. Falling in love wasn't in the plan for either of them. Garrett is everything Delia dreamed of and more. Delia touches places in Garrett's heart that he hadn't known existed. Can Delia learn to trust in love? Can Garrett get out of his own way long enough to show Delia how much she matters?

Sex interferred with the story

This book was given to me in exchange for an unbiased review. this was an excellent story but the sex kept getting in the way. This is the second story in the series. Garret and Deliah's story. Garret a corporate attorney wins an insurance case and can't stand himself so he travels to his home in Alaska. the story was well written. The narrator was good but she put me to sleep several times. The story ended well and I enjoyed their interaction and how well garret interacted with Deliah's son Nick. Also glad that Nick got to know his grandmother even if his father was not the best person.

Sweet Love Story

I enjoyed listening to this sweet audiobook. It was laid back and a feel good romance. Very easy listening with minimal drama.

Delia is a hard working mom that has not had any romantic involvement since her son was born six years prior. His father left them and wanted nothing to do with her son.

Garret is a wealthy successful corporate lawyer that comes to Alaska to get away from the big city, and an unfulfilling job.

He was not looking for love but the connection with Delia was too strong to ignore. They enjoy each other's company & have a strong attraction to each other.

They have some obstacles to overcome and distance to deal with when he goes back home. Can they get through it all?

The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life. The story wraps up nicely with a HEA conclusion. I'm looking forward to listening to another one of this author's sweet stories.

She has a great range of different voices, enough to enjoy the different conversations taking place without mixing characters up for the listener.

Not really, nothing really stood out for me personally.

Last Frontier Lodge Review...

Story was a little boring. Seemed that plot just went in circles. Needed a little bit more 'action' vs talk. Narrator was okay.

Great Story

Once again this story is is narrated by Hollis McCarthy and it was okay.

This story line was fabulous and exciting. It's amazing how people fall in love. Some are frightened by it, others embrace it readily.

Yet my complaint against the language still stands. It wasn't necessary to refer to the male penis as a C__K, that isn't very romantic. in areas it was referred to as his length, I'm quite sure everyone knew what was being referred there.

The story itself was amazing and was brilliantly written, it didn't need the vulgar language at all.

Finding unexpected love

What did you like best about this story?

I liked that Garrett was trying to find a more peaceful way of living and was able to find it while visiting his family's ski lodge in Alaska.

What does Hollis McCarthy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hollis McCarthy does a wonderful job with narrating the book. I really enjoy listening to her.

Any additional comments?

Garrett met single mother Delia on a previous visit. This time it was instant attraction that developed into love. It wasn't a smooth road and they needed to overcome some obstacles.
This is the second book in the series but you can listen to it without the previous one but it's much better listening to the first book first. I was given a free copy for my honest opinion.

Love Conquers All

What did you love best about Love at Last?

This book is book 3 in the Last Frontier Lodge series but each book is a stand alone. This book is Garrett and Delia's story. Garret is what you think of when you hear the words 'corporate lawyer.' Driven, no time for a personal life, a ladies man when he does bother to date, never taking time to take a vacation. Yet Garrett finds himself on a plane heading to Diamond Creek, Alaska, to visit his brother and the ski lodge that he has reopened recently. Delia is a single mother who is finally getting back on her feet. Garrett's brother, Gage, had offered her the job of chef at the Last Resort Ski Lodge. She is finally in her element.

What did you like best about this story?

And than in walks Garrett. The sparks fly immediately but both are slow to move. Delia has always put her son first and doesn't think she has the time nor the right to date the devastating Garrett. Garrett on the other hand isn't sure about dating a woman with a child. Nor does it help that he realizes that Delia will never want to leave Diamond Creek.

Have you listened to any of Hollis McCarthy’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

The narrator has a wonderful voice and pace in telling the story. You want to keep listening to the story to find out what happens next.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I have read the book and it had been awhile so being able to listen to the story while working on a quilting project was lovely.

Any additional comments?

I did receive this audio book from the author in exchange for a fair, unbiased review. Having already read the Kindle version of this book, I was more than happy to accept the book.
