Publisher's summary

A captivating new sexy stand-alone romance by New York Times best-selling author Melissa Foster.

Special Forces veteran and Dark Knights Motorcycle Club member Bullet Whiskey lives to protect his family, their bar, and the residents of his small hometown. He's rough, unapologetic, and haunted by a secret, painful past. He's also a master at keeping people away, and when his sister hires gorgeous and sweet Finlay Wilson to help expand their biker bar, he knows just how to get rid of her.

After losing her boyfriend and her father, Finlay moves back to her hometown to be closer to the little family she has left. She needs her temporary job at Whiskey Bro's to get her catering business off the ground, and she's determined not to let the gruff, arrogant mountain of a man Bullet Whiskey scare her off.

Finlay is everything Bullet has never wanted. She's afraid of his dog, afraid of motorcycles, and sweet enough to give him cavities, but as she weaves her way into the hearts of everyone around him, he's powerless to resist her charms. Passion ignites, but trust doesn't come easily, and when their pasts collide, Bullet finds out the true meaning of protecting those he loves.

sweet

I thought this was a sweet story of a family that takes care of each other and their town. I loved the chemistry between the main characters and loved seeing into Whiskey and all his layers. He was damaged but not broken. Great characters!

Narration was great- very nice to listen to and fine production.

Really enjoyed the narrator he brought it to life

I read this book a few months ago when it was released as an eBook and really enjoyed it so when I was given the opportunity to get an advanced copy of the audiobook I jumped on it. Not only did I enjoy the narrator (Paul Woodson) but listening to the book come alive lead to me to taking my four star review and making it five! Being able to listen to the book added a new dimension to the story which I absolutely loved.

While Driving Whiskey Wild is the third book in The Whiskeys Series it can be read as a standalone which is exactly how I read it. Did I feel lost at all because I hadn't read the previous books? Not at all. This is one of the things I like most about Melissa Fosters books, you can read any of them in any order and never feel lost, but honestly her books are so enjoyable you'll want to read them all.

Bullet and Finlay have this opposites attract, bad boy / good girl, chemistry that was so hot I wondered if my kindle would melt. My heart broke for this tough, motorcycle club leather wearing, badass biker. He went through so much in his life always the protector of others even when it took the ultimate toll on him leaving him with a sever case of PTSD after being medically discharged from the military. Tinkerbell, Bullet's rottweiler, seemed to be the only thing that helped him with his flashbacks, well that was until Finlay came into his life.

I love this cute little chef, Finlay was dedicated to starting up her own catering business but I'm pretty sure she didn't expect the changes that would come to her life when she agrees to help Dixie with the expansion of Whiskeys Bro's. I enjoyed watching Finlay overcome some of her fears with the guidance of Bullet, this big strong man had a tender heart and an even more tender hand when it came to Finlay, something neither of them were use to.

This was a sweet and sexy read that had me tearing up a few times so you may want to keep tissues handy just in case.

Fabulous story

**Edit to my original review **

I read this book when it first came out. I just listened to the audio book andI forgot how much I loved this book. I love listening to audio while driving. The narration is amazing.

Finley was a warm sunshine and Bullet is a winter storm. - I love that line.

Bullet and Finley were totally opposite. Bullet was hard and rough. Where as Finley was soft and sweet. There is no denying the attraction Bullet had for Finley, it was scorching hot. You just knew once they got together it would be powerful.

Bullet was damaged, his body told that story. WOW it is increasable how Melissa draws you in and you forget about your surroundings. The tattoos description was so detailed. I don't know how Melissa do it. It was increasable. I wish I could give more then 5 stars. It is so worth more. I loved it so much I am going to read it again.

Driving Whiskey Wild

Melissa has written another part to the Whiskey series. This is the first audiobook of hers I've listened to. I loved it! Paul Woodson did an excellent job of narrator.

Sweet story but not many surprises

Cute story. As with the others it's not too dark or deep. There wasn't quite an insta-love connection but they still fell together quite quickly. We know that Bullet has gone through some pretty rough stuff from glimpses of him in the previous books, however it doesn't delve too deeply into his background aside from one pretty tragic story. We still get some good friendship and relationship development between the main characters and more of the Whiskey family dynamic. Finley is pulled into the family much to her suprise and with virtually no conflict. We are introduced to Sara and Scott who become larger characters in future books (Sara is a personal favourite so it was nice to see the beginning of her's). Even the surprise twist (I actually didn't see it coming) was resolved incredibly fast and with no issues.

Narration was the same for me as the last 2, pretty good, though I do prefer dual narration when there are POVs from the man and the woman. 3/5 story and 3/5 narration.

Overall the story was fine but not surprising. There was nothing that made it stick with me afterwards but it was still full of sweet moments and romance.

Another amazing story.

Love this series. Melissa Foster’s words have a way of pulling me in, I was going to read the first book in the series, now I just finished book 3 and can’t get enough of the Whiskey men/ family. Finlay and Bone’s story was beautiful, emotional and heartfelt.

Sweet, heartwarming, steamy and healing

I loved, loved Bullet and Finlay’s beautiful and healing opposites attract love story. It is full of all the swoony swoons and all the big feelings - expect to laugh, cry, swoon, bite your knuckle, and cheer. Bullet is a special forces vet with PTSD. He works at his family’s bar in Peaceful Harbor and is a member of the Dark Knights MC. Finlay is a caterer who recently moved back to Peaceful Harbor to be closer to her sister. She is hired by Bullet’s family to help with the bar expansion. Finlay is all sunshine, optimism, and pretty dresses. Bullet is all glowering, dark clothes, tattooed protectiveness. There is instant chemistry and connection between Bullet and Finlay and the closer they become, the more similarities they find. They are both bruised and scarred but not broken people. On their way to their HEA, Bullet and Finlay have to both deal with their pasts and together they find healing and a way forward. The story included sweet moments, steamy scenes, chuckles, supportive friends, messy families, painful pasts, and all the heart squeezing love. All of Melissa Foster’s books have a central theme of family who accept you as you are - those we are born into and those we create. This book is no different. I love Melissa’s characters and families. They always feel like home. I am so excited to read the next book in this series.

Paul Woodson did a phenomenal job narrating and breathing life into the story and the characters with enough change of inflection, tone and cadence to voice multiple characters quite convincingly.
