Publisher's summary

Welcome to Kennedy Fox Bedtime Reads! Steamy love stories you can listen to in one sitting! After everyone goes to bed for the night, snuggle up with a Kennedy Fox Bedtime Read! These are fast-paced, full-length standalone novels that are filled with humor and insta-lust, but still have everything you love about a Kennedy Fox book.

Never trust a man who answers the front door wearing nothing more than a pair of low-cut jeans and a panty-melting smirk. That should've been my first sign. I write about guys just like him for a living - sexy and charming, yet reluctant to get into a serious relationship. His body screams sex appeal, but his condescending personality makes him a classic f--kboy. And I want nothing to do with that.

Writing romance novels comes with its perks - traveling, meeting new people, creating characters from the voices in my head - but Ethan Rochester enters my life and rearranges all my preconceived notions about writing what inspires you. One week is all it took. One week to realize that not everything is as it seems.

One week with the bad boy, and I wanted more.

Bad Boys

Vada rents a cottage from Ethan. she wasn't expecting the hot guy who answered the door to be the owner.
I liked the premise of the book of an author needing to get away to clear her writers block. I also enjoyed the chemistry between Vada and Ethan.
CJ Bloom and Joe Arden really brought the characters to life in this book.

Great story

Story was good with dirty bad boy talk (which I love). Only negative comment I have is although I am a fan of the female narrator, I did not care for her very much in this book.

Hot!

WOW!! That opening scene had me giggling like a silly school girl, and hooked me right into this story!! FALLING FOR THE BAD BOY was chock full of sexiness and heat!!!! It was a fast paced read with lots of sexy flirty banter! Ethan’s back story was absolutely heartbreaking and despite his reservations about letting himself fall in love again, I was glad that he addressed his feelings early on and didn’t hold onto the past. As for Vada, she was quirky and hilarious but I did find her excuse for avoiding relationships to be a cop out.

I loved the narrators for this book! CJ Bloom breathed so much sassiness into Vada! And Joe Arden with a southern accent? Enough, said!! Swooonnnn!!!

Insta-lust with heart

This was my first Kennedy Fox book, but I can assure you it won't be my last. I didn't really know what to expect. I figured it would be a sexy read, and it was, but it was also so much more. I wasn't expecting the emotional side of the story, that kinda hit me out of left field. It made the story so much more powerful than I ever anticipated, I'll be honest, I was shopping while listening and I shed a few tears. It's also funny, I laughed out loud more than a few times. I loved how Kennedy Fox wrote this book, the pacing was on point, not too fast, but also most definitely not a slow burn. If you love insta-lust stories that have heart, this is the book for you. I really liked the cover, I think it's a good representation of Ethan and the beginning of the story. Personally, I'd have liked to have seen the narrators noted on it as well.

I enjoyed these characters, they were such a joy to spend time with. This story had great supporting characters, Nora and Aunt Millie were wonderful additions. They really stood out and gave the story character. Ethan was a great male lead, he had it all; the sexiness, the gruff attitude, the swooniness, and of course, he was the damaged guy that only Vada could make whole, honestly, his backstory is heartbreaking. Thank heavens for Vada. His choice in bed partners before Vada was questionable, I'll admit at one point I was biting my lip hoping the reveal wasn't true...because that would suck, lucky Ethan wasn't a douche. Vava was awesome, I adored her. I wanted to go hang out with her and be her friend. I felt bad that she didn't really have anyone and the reasons for it. She was feisty and smart. She gave as good as she got, which I loved. I liked that she was a writer. She frustrated me a little, but I get she was protecting herself, so that made it alright. The animals were a big part of this story and they were brilliant.

I loved how Ethan and Vada's relationship started and progressed through the story. At times I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I thought the HEA was upon us and then realised the audiobook had over 2 hours to go, that was a WTF moment I can tell you, but, Kennedy Fox is a genius and it worked really well, I was hooked and wondering how and what was going to happen next. The sexy times, to which there are a good few, as you would expect for bedtime reading, were written incredibly well and worked with the story. None of them ever felt forced or out of place. My second WTF moment came when I heard the words 'One Year Later' seriously, I shouted the words, because why? Why would that happen? But, it did happen, and again it worked well for the story, so all is forgiven and I got my HEA. Praise the writing gods!

This dual narration was performed wonderfully by Joe Arden and CJ Bloom, it wasn't a particularly long book, however, I thought they both fit the parts really well and their voices complemented each other, better than I thought they would when I saw their names connected with the audiobook. It was a lovely surprise.

I think this might be my favourite CJ Bloom performance. She really brought Vada to life, she performed her in a way to make the listener connect with her on a level they may not have done while reading the book. Her feelings shone through during the performance and I loved that about it. I really enjoyed her portrayal of the accents and different characters, each one seemed unique and fitting for the character it was for. She also nailed both the sexy and emotional parts of the story.

Joe Arden was the embodiment of Ethan Rochester, at no point did I sit back and think, nope, this voice doesn't fit, he was the character. The inflections and accents used really enhanced the performance and gave each character a distinct sound. Although this book is hot on sexy times, the emotional aspects of this story really shone through and those were the standout moments of Joe's performance for me. Although don't get me wrong, the sexy times were performed, well... sexily, for lack of a better word. JA definitely doesn't disappoint. Lastly, I need to take a second to talk about Joe's southern drawl in this book...swoon, it was fantastic, to this Brit anyway. I'm a sucker for the southern drawl, I'm not gonna lie...the southern drawl is like the English accent to Americans. In other words, it's a swoonfest just waiting to happen. The production was great with no issues that I noted.

Hot, but sad, but sweet and then hot again!

I LOVED THIS AUDIOBOOK!

First off, Joe Arden with a slight southern twang? Yes, please. CJ Bloom was great as her character, too! Just really perfect choices on the narrators here.
As for the story, WOW, I was not expecting it to be to be what it was. I thought this book would be equivalent to a quickie, if you know what I mean. And I did finish it quickly, but it had much more depth than I was expecting. Ethan's back story literally made me tear up and Vada was a strong heroine that I really respected. Their chemistry level was off the charts, but they also had a lot of humor and then some seriousness between them. LOVED IT!

Fun Romance

My Week With a Bad Boy starts out as just a fun, flirty, and sexy story. Vada is looking for a quiet place to have a working vacation and write her romance book. What she found was charming, cocky, bad boy Ethan.

“This feeling is giving me a high—one that I don’t want to come down from anytime soon.”

The story is a mix of over the top, insta-love with a touch of emotional depth. Throw in some of the cutest animals and you will definitely be entertained!

“I feel like when I’m with you, I can be myself again, and that’s a feeling I haven’t felt for a very, very long time.”

I listened to most of this story on audiobook and I think the narrators really added to my enjoyment. Ebook is good, but the audiobook was a full experience.

A real enjoyable audible!

What made the experience of listening to Falling for the Bad Boy the most enjoyable?

Any additional comments?

Oh wow.. Adding the voices to this book just completely elevated it so much. You really get the in depth feel of how this story plays out as you hear the anguish in the voices, the laughter and banter as well as everything else. I really enjoyed putting a voice to the characters and not gonna lie, how to pronounce Vada’s name LOL. Overall, I really enjoyed this audio as the narrators are well spoken and really add flare to the story! Below is my review of the novel as well!
HOLY HOTNESS!! This book! OMG! To say that this book was hot is understatement. The banter right from the start had me going. I was laughing. I was swooning. Ethan is sin on a stick. He gives as good as he gets and Vada sure gave him a run for his money.
The past of both characters is heartbreaking. Each have their own demons that they are working through and they find solace in each other and found home with each other. When you find out Ethan’s past you heart just shatters and Vada was the perfect character that brought him back to life. Her being a romance novelist just added to the spice of this story too.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story as it gives you a fun perspective on a romance novelist! Overall, this is another great addition to this writing duo’s books! Absolutely fun and sexy!

Good... but not my Favorite by KFox

I've become quite the Kennedy Fox junkie over the last year or so and have been dipping into their backlist. I might have dipped a little too far with this one. Make Me Forget (formerly Falling for the Bad Boy) is one of their earliest books and I feel like it shows. While I enjoyed the overall story well enough, I never felt super connected like I have with their more recent releases. Ethan's double entendres felt too forced and were used too often. And this is a me thing, but one of my least favorite plot tropes was employed. The one where a main character (usually the female lead) listens to someone else (who obviously has ulterior motives) and trusts their word over their partner's. Why? You have no reason to believe this person, and instead of doing the logical, adult thing like talking to your partner, you take off and end things. Ugh. Not a fan of the whole miscommunication/lack of communication thing. Not when the whole conflict could have solved by one conversation.

Anyway, this was enjoyable enough on audio (thumbs up for Joe Arden) but definitely not my favorite from Kennedy Fox.
