Publisher's summary

She's addicted to sex. He's addicted to booze... the only way out is rock bottom.

No one would suspect shy Lily Calloway's biggest secret. While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom. To get laid. Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups, and events she shamefully regrets. The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own.

Loren Hale's best friend is his bottle of bourbon. Lily comes at a close second. For three years, they've pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families. They've mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment.

But as they sink beneath the weight of their addictions, they cling harder to their destructive relationship and wonder if a life together, for real, is better than a lie. Strangers and family begin to infiltrate their guarded lives, and with new challenges, they realize they may not just be addicted to alcohol and sex.

Their real vice may be each other.

For the most fulfilling listening experience, the Calloway Sisters series should be listened to along with the Addicted series.

Great story

The story is okay, but the narrator gets on my nerves with her breathiness after each phrase! Gag!

Awesome

I love this series and this start is awesome, filled with great characters and a great storyline. The narrator does a great job and just enhanced the story.

Gave up on this one

I don’t know if it was the awful depravity and sadness of the addiction but I was hoping there was a story somewhere in there. The narrator sounded like she was on a ventilator. Not a fan.

Emotional and gripping, even 2nd time around.

What did you love best about Addicted to You?

The Ritchie sisters did a tremendous job in addressing such a pressing issue within our society by creating a world for us to step in & experiencing it ourselves. It was like I could almost feel the love, the pain, the shame and the guilt of Lil & Lo as they battled their addictions. But through it all, it was beautiful & heartwarming to see how the people around them battle alongside them. Lil & Lo's relationship was an unhealthy one, but their genuine love & care for each other will have you rooting at them to fight and get better.

Who was your favorite character and why?

OMG this is tough, it's like Sophie's choice! But if I really have to choose, my favorite couple has always been Lily & Loren. (Yup still can't settle for ONE character, sorry!!) They've always been against the odds of the world and the underdogs and without them, we wouldn't have met the entire gang of this series ;) ♥

What about Erin Mallon’s performance did you like?

I love how she captured Lily's POV so well, it resonates with the struggling timid voice that Lily would have portrayed had she been real and Erin Mallon did her character justice. I was also amazed by how she captured Loren's voice and brought the whole story to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book itself had the power to move me, so imagine if words brought that kind of emotions, then what more hearing the words themselves. Towards the last quarter of the book, I definitely got a little weepy at moments where LiLo hit rock bottom and Erin Mallon certainly brought those emotions to an all time high for me.

Any additional comments?

Read this series! I've re-read this series two times already and I wish I could say I'm exaggerating but I still feel all the overwhelming emotions again even with a re-read! I almost cannot imagine a world without these amazing people that the Ritchie series have birthed and now with an audiobook, it's coming to life! I hope the entire series will be on audiobook and I'll be praying hard enough for this series to be made into a TV series/movie, then my life will be complete!! #fizzleforce

It was ok.

Nothing earth shattering. What I can say is, both characters are kinda pathetic but not bad people. I like characters with flaws who aren't perfect. However, there isn't really anything driving me to want to finish the series....which I might add, is a time commitment. I got this book on sale, so I can't bemoan my "wasted money". I think I'll skip the rest of the series and save my money for something else. The narrator, was just a little less than okay. She is too "breathy" on the end of all her sentences and her male characters are terrible. The breathiness was overcome for me after a while, but the male voices were not. Some narrators make the mistake of trying to sound "male" rather than just slightly lowering their tone, or whatever great narrators do. I have heard far worse narrators, so this one doesn't make that cut. So the verdict is 3 stars across the board. So many readers love this series, but I just don't think it was my cup of tea. JMHO.

WOW, WOW, WOW!

What a spectacular start to this series!! Secrets, addictions, struggles, and love! Loren and Lily are dysfunctional but so perfect for each other. Their love is so strong and can be felt all throughout. The odds are stacked against them but together they can conquer!
Wonderful narrators do a spectacular job all the way through!

Addictions

If you want to read a story with the characters dealing with alcoholism, codependence, and sex addiction this is a good. I felt it was a bit depressing, however I wanted to hear what happened. I do like the main couple and the friends that come into their lives. I am unsure if I will listen to the sequels.

Can't take anymore!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

No, its too stretched out. I cant imagine continuing the series. The story needs to be over already!

Would you listen to another book narrated by Erin Mallon?

She's a little whiny, but I have listened to other books narrated by her.

Not what I expected, but loved it!

This book was so good! I have been reading these "dark romances" where the characters tell us they are messed up buy only give a real shallow explanation as to why.

This book delves into the codependent toxic relationship between Lilly and Lo, and it is heartbreaking as well as mesmerizing. There is very little spice, no mafia dons, and no secret societies, just two people who love each other, but not more than their addictions, trying to find a way to be together without giving up either of their vices.
