Publisher's summary

He's addicted to booze. She's addicted to sex... staying sober is only half the battle. No. More. Sex. Those are the three words Lily Calloway fears the most. But Loren Hale is determined to be with Lily without enabling her dangerous compulsions. With their new living situation - sleeping in the same bed, for real, together - Lily has new battles. Like not jumping Lo's bones every night. Not being consumed by sex and his body. Loren plans to stay sober, to right all of his wrongs. So when someone threatens to expose Lily's secret to her family and the public, he promises that he'll do anything to protect her. But with old enemies surfacing, Lo has more at stake than his sobriety. They will torment Lily until Lo breaks. And his worst fear isn't relapsing. He hears the end. He sees it. The one thing that could change everything. Just three words. No. More. Us.

For the most fulfilling listening experience, the Calloway Sisters series should be listened to along with the Addicted series.

Really????

Well I almost gave up on this one. Lily is so unbelievably (I hate to use this word) stupid that I couldn't take it. The choices she makes, make me cringe. However I do realize this is a series about overcoming addictions and growing and maturing. She is only 20 but I don't think I was ever around anyone as immature as that at 20. At the end there seemed to be some improvement I had decided I was done with this series but I think I will finish it out.

LOVED IT!! LiLo forever

What made the experience of listening to Addicted for Now the most enjoyable?

RE-READ via audio (2/26/2015)! Putting voices to Lily and Lo brought a whole new experience to this book. Even though I've already read this book I never expected hearing it would make me LOVE IT even more.

Gah, the voices were spot on and made me feel like I know the characters even better. I gained an appreciation for Jonathan Hale while listening to Lo talk about him. The first time I read it I'm not sure if I fully grasped how much Jonathan loves his son. But this time around my heart squeezed as I listened to Jonathan's love for Lo, even though it was pretty corrupt.

Listening to Lily share her feelings made me tear up. The emotion in her voice pulled at my heartstrings. Listening to Lo's determination to be the guy Lily needs had me swooning for him.If you've read this book then consider taking it to the next level and listen to it. And if haven't read it yet enhance your reading experience by listening to it. ADDICTED FOR NOW audio was EXCELLENT!

***5 Addicted Stars***

"Whatever happens,we're in this together. You and me. Lily and Lo."
She is my past, my present, my future.

All six characters are back and they are battling a big roadblock that revolves around Lily & Lo. Lily and Lo are reunited and are forced to face life without being addicted.

But a wrench is thrown into their plan when a person decides to out Lily's addiction to the world. The mystery around who this person is and the motivation for wanting to destroy this couple was very intriguing. I guessed all the way to the end who it might be and why they wanted to hurt this couple.

ADDICTED FOR NOW offers a dual pov. Being inside of Lo's head was fascinating because we got to hear his private conversations between him and his father AND we got to learn what was on the Lily's blacklist.

Emotional and Addicting

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

YES. The Addicted series is by far my favorite new adult series but Addicted For Now was the first book in the series that pulled me in completely. The story is unique and captivating. The characters are amazing and easily stole my heart. Actually listening to these charactesr come to life had me drowning in feels.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lily Calloway. Her POV chapters are always my favorite. She's adorably awkward and can be so amusing when she doesn't mean to be. She's the kind of character you want to mama bear and protect from the world.

What about Charles Carr and Erin Mallon ’s performance did you like?

The emotion. Erin Mallon and Charles Carr did an excellent job in bringing my favorite characters to life. Even how they read for secondary characters was wonderful.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. It's also one I would listen to again (and again).

Any additional comments?

Listening to the banter between characters was by far my favorite part. I had to work really hard not to laugh out loud and grin like an idiot since I mostly listened to it on my way to class and during my study breaks. I failed a good number of times.

*My review will contain spoilers*

I was honestly a bit nervous about this book, since this has both Lilly's and Lo's point of view, along with two narrators. But despite my nervousness about this book, I am glad I read/listened to it. It was interesting, along with it being rather emotional. I also feel like Lo and Lilly really progressed individually and in their relationship.
This book has me laughing, smiling, cringing a bit at times, and even tearing up a bit.

*Spoilers*

I'm liking this protective side of Lo, even towards Rose. I am hoping that after this book they will warm up to each other more. I know it was hinted that they were getting along a little better now, but I am hoping to see more of it in the future. I am thinking that Lo has always had this protective since to him, but it was just buried under all the alcohol, his father, along with the fact he had no one to really protect besides Lilly. Now he has more people around him who truly love him and Lilly and are supportive.
It was so sad how devastated Lo was by his mother's rejection and how she spoke to him like no mother should speak to her child, even if unwanted. I don't understand why she would say something about how she wanted an abortion right in his face. It just makes no sense to me. I understand she was young and everything, but that is cruel of her to say that even if it was the truth. And you know, his words ended up true, as her lies broke her family apart. I already knew that Lo went to meet his mother because of book one in the Bad Reputation Duet, but it was interesting seeing it from his point of view. I do feel like he does come back and speaks to Willow from what I remember, but I'm not exactly sure.
It was also sad that Lo knows that his father is verbally abusive, but he's lived with it for so long that he has grown numb to the fact, so I can see why Ryke would be worried and emotional about it. I think this book really showed just how much Ryke loves his brother, and despite the tension and distrust in the beginning, Lo is able to admit the fact that they are brothers. I'm pretty sure Lo loves and cares about him to. Especially towards the end.
I also dislike the fact that because of Lo and Lilly's upbringing, they honestly believe that they deserve all the hate, pain, and negative emotions because of how "lucky" they were with all the things they were given, but not the the things they really needed and wanted. Such as good parents who lived them properly. I am so glad that they have people telling them over and over again that what happened wasn't their fault. They made mistakes in their lives, but those mistakes were based on the fact that they were deeply hurt by the people who were supposed to love them, and they are growing past that to better themselves.
I found multiple things rather appalling/shocking in this book such Lo's father's suggestion on using any future children he has for marketing Hale Co. baby products (which is seriously messed up), what Sara Hale did (which was also really messed up and I feel so bad for Ryke), the people who harassed Lilly, the DJ scene during their spring break vacation, Malissa, the new psychiatrist that Lilly had to go to and on what he did to her, and even Lilly's parents (even though her father still seems to care about her, but he's not really being very assertive against his wife, who I really dislike).
I am really finding Jonathan Hale to be a rather confusing person. He's an alcoholic who has verbally abused Lo since he was little and probably Ryke as well during some of their exchanges, and he uses and manipulates people to get what he wants. But there is also the fact that he loves Lo, in his own twisted way. He also protected Ryke from learning who was behind the leak, as I think if Lo had gone alone to his house or had been by himself in the car, Jonathan would have probably revealed that information. I don't understand why he would protect Ryke when it seems like he likes Lo more than Ryke. He also seems to care about Lilly as well, but I'm not sure if that is because he wants to have grandchildren to carrying on the Hale family name or something else.
I did like seeing more Connor and seeing him begin to open and reveal more about hinself. I kind of agree that they will probably never truly know him, but maybe someday he will be comfortable to open up to his friends. It was interesting seeing him truly show his emotions, which really showed just how much he bottles up most of the time, and I'm kind of wondering why he does that when he has people he can trust. I'm also curious about his mother and on what happened to his father since he didn't have one. I was honestly a bit surprised with his reaction to finding out Lilly was cheating to pass her class's. I honestly thought he was going reprimand her rather severely, but he was more mad at Sebastian for giving her the handouts and how he has been manipulating and being a terrible friend to Rose. I also never realized that Rose has OCD before Connor mentioned it. I know she is very particular about things, wanting everything to be clean, is against smoking, and apparently has some aversion or fear of blood, but I never connected that to having OCD. It's probably another thing caused by her mother. I am also curious with what Connor shared with Rose about himseld, with what he meant by "you know me" and what caused her to realize that she really didn't. I have an idea of something he has probably not revealed to her, and that probably has something to do with his sexual interests. I am also wondering what he meant when he basically told Lilly that love wasn't for everyone. Had he never been loved before or he just doesn't known what that would feel like? Or does it have something to do with Rose or his parents? I was also surprised to learn that Rose and Connor have known each other for so long and with the fact that Rose has had a crush on him for a very long time and Connor knew about it.
I also didn't realize that alcoholism was hereditary, which explains why both Lo and Ryke have issues with alcohol, and also explains a bit more on why Maximoff is so adamant about avoiding it in the Like Us series. I am kind of wondering just how bad it is for Ryke with alcohol as he doesn't seem to have the same alcoholic problems and urges that Lo does.

*Narration*
I wasn't sure if I was going to like Charles Carr voicing Lo, but he really did a nice job with Lo's character. His voice actually reminds me a bit of Maximoffs voice in the Like Us series, which was interesting and also made me happy. The narration was really good in this book.

Overall, this was a pretty good book. I will be moving onto the first Callaway Sisters book as I'm going with the authors recommended reading order.

ADDICTED TO THIS SERIES

I love this whole series. Lo and Lily are just one out of of the 3 couples that I can't get enough of. This series is about love, heartache, addictions, family, the struggles celebrities face, the ups and downs of being in the media, having every single thing you do or choice you make scrutinized and so much more.

Narration is THE BEST

I swear I have flown through this series (still one?left I believe) because of the narration of Lilly. She does SO GOOD at all the different voices that I’m literally drawn into the story. I’ve quit good books before due to narration and had to just grab it on kindle- this series is perfect in audio because of her. This book added in Loren’s voice separately and he sounded good too but his “female” inflection was a bit too much for me lol- but still did great.
