Publisher's summary

The entire world is on the brink of finding out nightmares are real.

An army of demons known as the Noctis is growing in strength. They control all manner of foul beasts and if not stopped soon, cities will burn, lives will end, and hope will be lost.

The only thing standing in the way are the Journeymen; humans and supernatural beings united against the darkness.

There is one known amongst men and the supernatural alike that you don't mess with. Unless it's on his terms.

His name is Gage Crosse and he's the best damn Journeyman around.

These are his adventures.

I love the Journeymen!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely to anyone who likes an action-packed novel with a bit of romance thrown in.

What about Wen Ross’s performance did you like?

Wen Ross has such range of voices that you forget only one person is narrating. His southern accent has always been my favorite, it's to die for.

Any additional comments?

This was the first book I have read by Golden Czermak and I have to say it was really good. I will read anything Paranormal and I'm happy to say I wasn't disappointed. I loved the action in this book which is a bit different from the romance novels I read, but the fight scenes were so well-written I was completely drawn into the story. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series.

Awesome start to the series

This was a great start to this series. It was exciting, fun, and just all around awesome. Its been a while since I've dived into a paranormal book and Homeward Bound was just what I needed. It is full of mystery and I loved the way the story unfolded. I can tell that I am going to be so addicted to this series dying to know what will happen next. The Journeymen are such an interesting group. This one covered the Journeyman Gage. It was great seeing how feared he is by the Noctis and how lethal he is. I also liked seeing things from the Notis pov and see how sinister things are for the villains in the story. Each chapter only intrigues me more. Excellent writing and story from Golden. Add on to that the fact that Wen Ross narrated this book and it was top notch. Wen Ross is a favorite narrator of mine and Wen made listening to this amazing book that much more enjoyable. Ekkk I just love Gage and can't wait to listen to the rest of the books in this series.

Great Book

If you could sum up Homeward Bound in three words, what would they be?

Great Action Destruction

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed reading Homeward Bound by Golden Czermak. It was a good read about a time that many people have thought about before. It's about the many creatures of our nightmares coming to create havoc. An army of demons is trying to take over control and will create a path of death and havoc. This book follows Gage who is one of the best Journeymen alive. Journeymen are a group of humans that are protecting people from these demons. I an't wait to read more by this author. I recommend this book to everyone.

Crazy Amazing

This book has everything going on. It operates on so many levels and it all gels well together. Romance. Paranormal. Road trips. Family reunions of sorts. Jokes. Good...Evil...the in between.

One of my favorite aspects of the storyline itself is that it is very LGBT friendly. I've read a lot of stories where the gay character is always stereotypical. I can very much imagine a Joey in my life (in fact, he reminds me of my friend). In fact, the characters are so relatable, I can imagine bumping into folks like em in my everyday jaunts about town. That can be hard to do, especially in a paranormal story.

Reminds me of Buffy, Supernatural, and the like. Specifically because of the hearts of the characters mixed with great jokes and dialogue.

I purchased because of a Trailer Park Book Club recommendation, and I'm sticking with it because of 1) Golden's stupendous ability to create this world, and 2) Wen Ross makes my brain melt with his out of this world ability to further develop the characters and storyline with those dang amazing voices. I can't get enough! 🍆

I really wanted to like this series.

What did you like best about Homeward Bound? What did you like least?

The narrator is amazing. He could read the phone book and make it sound exciting. The story had so much potential. I loved the first 1/2 of the book... then it started to fall apart. Dialogue became contrived in order to move the plot forward. Some of the lines were so cheesy that I felt like the author was inviting me to share in a joke.

Would you ever listen to anything by Golden Czermak again?

I'm not sure. There were parts that were great, but it's hard to get passed the silly stuff. I'm an avid reader of urban fantasy, so am pretty good at suspending my belief. However, the dialogue still has to feel real. The second 1/2 of the book really missed the mark on that point.

Which character – as performed by Wen Ross – was your favorite?

Gage. I very much enjoyed the main character's humor... big, tough guy who doesn't take himself too seriously. The narrator was pitch perfect.

Could you see Homeward Bound being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Maybe if Quentin Tarrantino helps with the dialogue.

Homeward Bound

Loved this book! I laughed, got chills and even got teary. A team of 3 Journeymen fighting paranormal creatures of the night. Gage, Addy and Joey have a great friendship. Gage and Addy have hot sexual chemistry and a great love. Wen Ross brings this story together so well with all of his voices! The ending was a surprise and I am ready for the next book!

Not exactly what I was expecting

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would recommend this Audible, but only if the person likes the supernatural type of story.

What did you like best about this story?

Took me a long time to get into the story. Didn't really grab and hold my interest for probably close to the first 1/3 of the book/audio.

Have you listened to any of Wen Ross’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Wen did an amazing job as usual. The variety of voices for all the characters were awesome. It's the first time I've heard Wen narrate with a southern drawl. Well done!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not sure this unabridged could/should be done in one sitting. I frequently had to stop in the beginning simply because the story didn't grab me at first.

Any additional comments?

Overall, great book and worth the time to listen/read if you like supernatural stories and can get through the first part of the book.

My Two Pennies

Looking for a great paranormal story? Journeymen is the series for you. We're introduced to a sexy and hot as sin Gage, he's part of a group of supernatural hunters which includes Adrienne and the chemistry between these two is on fire. With being the first book in the series, we learn a lot about each of the characters and how the Journeymen stared. The whole story flowed rather smoothly and my attention was kept throughout. The way we're left I am drying to get going on Seal Of Solomon next. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

4 Journey Stars

First I loved the narration of this book; the deep tambour and accent is perfect for Gage.
This book sucks you in to this paranormal world of awesomeness. I can’t even explain how epic the fight/battle scenes or the imagery of it all. It’s just so detailed you feel as though your right there with them.

Gage, Joey and Adrienne are Journeymen. They fight/slay demons and things that go bump in the night. To keep the humans safe sure, but to also keep the balance. There is something coming and its name is Noctis.

These three have a friendship you can’t help but want in on. The wit and camaraderie are super cool with these guys I feel like the forth friend. :D

Gage battles himself with his feeling for Adrienne he feels like he could be putting her in harm’s way if he brings her closer. He feels it is selfish but sometimes you just have to trust.

“And sometimes love is the key that is missing in our lives.” – Gage.

I also love this quote. So I am sharing 2 from our main man Gage.

“The world may be imperfect darlin’ , but there are some perfect things in it.” - Gage

I have to say I love how Adrienne is with Gage she jumps in feet first and she makes sure he knows it.

“But I’m glad our feelings for each other are finally getting acknowledged and we’re acting on them. Life is a lonely road, but only until you find someone to travel with.” - Adrienne

There is so much going on in this book that I read it first, than I listened to the audio. And still I bet if I re read it again; I will pick up on things I missed the first 2 times. I kind of love that about this book it’s almost like reading it for the first time and finding new things to love.
