Publisher's summary

Shelly has always dreamed of going back to Surf Breeze. When she finally sets out on her own and buys a run-down building along the popular boardwalk, she hires a sexy but annoying contractor to help her turn it into her dream boutique. What she hadn't counted on was finding herself slowly changing with her surroundings. Fighting against an overbearing family, she'll learn to not only follow her own dreams, but stand up for something she believes in.

Marcus has been waiting his whole life for a woman who could see through the horrors he'd been through as a child and the humor he uses to mask it all. Now that he found her, he's not quite sure what comes next.

Good series

This was a new author to me. I like audio books but usually purchase ones I've already read. The narrator's voice was very smooth. I've had this book in my TBR pile and now I'm sorry I waited to read it. I love that it is a series and I'm going to go back and read Cassie's story. When it started out with a serious subject I worried I wouldn't like it but it was very well handled. Can't wait to listen to the other stories.

Good read

I love stories that have real characters that don't always have great beginnings but overcome those beginnings to be better people. This is my third audio book and I loved it. Having someone else read for me, freed me up to do so much.

Loved It

If you could sum up Someday Beach in three words, what would they be?

Marcus, Shelly, Love. I just love this book!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Marcus, he is alpha, sweet, romantic he is the whole package for a book boyfriend.

Any additional comments?

When Shelly buys a run down building she was in need of a contractor, Marcus came recommend by his sister. Marcus comes for a troubled childhood, Shelly comes from a childhood of privilege. When the two get together you will see that there past my be different, but they are also the same. Could this be what they both have been searching for? This is a great short listen, and should not be over looked! Amazing series but they are also standalone and not cliffhangers.

Phenomenal audio book

Any additional comments?

I LOVED this audio book. The beginning of it was heartbreaking, but it was so awesome to see Marcus didn't use his past as a crutch. I love the small town type feel of this book, and how close Marcus is with his true family. Shelly is such a sweet heroine, who is coming out from under her parents thumb and making something of her life. Jill did a phenomenal job in this book. At first, I thought the book was going to end one way, and I was going to hate a few secondary characters, but I loved the somewhat surprising (for a book) twist that Jill threw in.

Roy Samuelson has such a smooth voice, and he did each character perfectly, and I will definitely be looking for more audios read by him.

A fantastic audio, that I would definitely recommend picking up.

Another good read in this series..

Shelly, only thought she had a bad childhood until she heard Marcus’s story. Then she said, “my parents sound like saints.” And she was right. But, her parents did come around and they did become likable. Tyler, however, was a real piece of work. What a jerk!

Although, like Last Resort, there was no OMG moments this was a great story. A story without angst, a story without someone thinking they weren’t good enough for the one they loved. I guess what made the story so good was the telling of what Cassey, Marcus, Cole and Roman went through in their youth and the kind of adults they became, loving, caring, all about family. They were all amazing.

There was a little sexual tension in this book and 2 or 3 sex scenes but no horrible swearing to speak of. Damn was used a few times, that’s all.

As to the narration: Mr. Samuelson did a worse job on this book that Last Resort. He really sounded more robotic and the women sounded a little more masculine. Five or six times the book said someone laughed and there was no laughter on the narrator’s part. Or whispering, either. As much as I like this series I might just have to read the other books, rather than listen.

A great story!

Jill Sanders has written a wonderful story! Both Marcus and Shelly have had heartbreak but they both overcome it! I love the Graytons and how they had so much love to give. It shows family is more than blood. A good story of the positive difference fostering and adopting make to children who have been through so much! You can't go wrong with this audiobook!

Great beach read that leaves you wanting more!

Any additional comments?

What a great beach read! Following your heart and going against what your family wishes takes a strong person and that is just who Shelley is! You find yourself wanting Shelley and Marcus to find each other and feel pleasure when they finally come together! Jill Sanders writes in a style that you can relate to the characters and feel as a part of the story. This was my first Jill Sanders book and won't be my last! Jill left me wanting

Meh!

Overall Rating: 3.5 Stars

This was a slow read even though it was a short story and I found it difficult to care about either MC. The H with his tough past and the h with highly controlling parents make relationships difficult.

I will read the next in the series but am 50/50 on whether I will finish it. Hopefully the next book will be more intriguing.

Triggers: physical abuse of a child.
Heat - low
Descriptive Sex - 4/10

Listening to the story is somewhat difficult as the narration is almost clinical.
