Publisher's summary

Lucky Strickland has lost everything. First it was her dignity and then it was her husband, and now it's her house. She's penniless, stuck at the McDonald's in Bee Cave, Texas. Her only hope, her brother-in-law, just stole her car.

Eighteen months ago she was the wife of rock-and-roll legend Ricky Strickland. Rock My World, their reality TV show, was number one. Then, on the live season finale, Ricky introduced her to his mistress and their three daughters. Lucky stormed out. Ricky followed her and wrapped his car around the nearest oak tree.

Will Brodie, Lucky's bother-in-law, will do anything to get her back home. Lucky needs to grieve for her husband and take care of the lawsuit the realty TV network filed. They want their money back or for her to film a new reality TV show - with Ricky's children. Two months ago Ricky's daughters lost their mother to cancer - now they have only Will.

If Will can get Lucky to open her heart to the girls and to him, maybe he can finally give Lucky the family she's always wanted.

Great Book!

Any additional comments?

This is a great book; this is the second book in The Marilyns series written by Katie Graykowski and narrated by Pam Dougherty. Lucky Strickland was married to the rock and roll legend Ricky Strickland. Now eighteen months later she has lost everything, her dignity, husband and now her house. She found out on their reality TV show that her husband had a mistress and three daughters. Will Brodie is Lucky’s brother in law and will do anything to get Lucky back home. Will is taking care of his brother’s daughters after both of their parents died. He just wants Lucky home to be with him and the kids.

The narrator Pam Dougherty, did a wonderful job, and was very easy to listen too. Pam is one of my favorite narrators, every book that I have listened to by her I have enjoyed and this one was no different than the others. She did every characters voice different and was easy to tell which character was speaking.

This book has a great story; if you are looking for a great romance, that will have you laughing out loud, then you need to get this book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. Once I started listening to this book, I didn’t want to stop until the end.

A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

A wonderfully witty fun book...

This audio book "Getting Lucky" (book 2 of the Marilyns) is hilariously funny, witty and OH so much fun! I love Katie Graykowski's form of writing. She always makes me laugh yet she write classy fun, well informed books. She has a style no one else can even touch. I loved this book. I loved seeing the past familiar characters and was very pleased with the ending in this book. It's about time Lucky got lucky!

The author, Katie Graykowski does a fabulous job once again in her writing of this book! I love the plot, the laughs and the excitement this book gives us. The love and romance is pretty good too. The narrator, Pam Dougherty does a wonderful job with her narrations delivering to us a funny , witty read. Her voices and accents are spot on. I particularly loved her old English accent when Lucky was intimating an English woman. All of the accents are wonderful and the narrator brings this book to life with her delivery! Absolutely a warm and witty adventure in the Marilyn's life! Great job ladies! I can't wait until the next book comes out in audio! <3

Full of Glamazon Fun!

Narration - Pam Dougherty - Fabulous! Just Fabulous! She's perfection for this series!

This is just the cutest series I've been fortunate to stumble upon. Lucky Strickland is the 6 foot tall Glamazon friend of Betts from 'Place Your Betts' who's fallen on hard times since the death of her rocker husband, but she doesn't want any of her friends to know it. As a last ditch chance to get back on her feet, she ends up at her old home where her husband's not so secret second family is now living.

The one thing this story lacked for me was what I loved the most about the first book - our opportunity to fall in love right along with our male and female lead characters. This is a much shorter book and I wish the author would have made it a little longer and developed the falling in love part of the relationship between Lucky and Will a little bit more. Will has always been in love with Lucky from the moment he first saw her, but Lucky loved her Husband Ricky. So her transition from thinking of him as a friend to being in love with him was really quick and was missing a lot of the wooing and romantic tension that comes with someone working hard to win the other one over. I think the book focused more on Lucky building a relationship with the girls (which I loved) but would have liked more of that build up between her and Will.

BUT...I still loved it. Great Series, love Mama Cherie and her wisdom (lol)
