An Amazing Book Worthy of Being Coballoway's Last

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book, the entire series, is just wonderful. The non-straight (? I don't know how to refer to it precisely since said character prefers no labels) representation was done so well, plus the feminism and, yes, finally seeing such a hated character get what was long coming was so satisfying.

What other book might you compare Fuel the Fire to and why?

I can't really think of one? This book, and its great cast of characters, is so unique. This series has taken my heart.

What about Therese Plummer and Mark Boyett ’s performance did you like?

Really great! I loved Connor's and Rose's voices.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

IT MADE ME FEEL EVERYTHING. Krista and Becca never disappoint me. All their books are just filled with so much emotion, with such a great balance of drama and humor. It's amazing.

Connor Cobalt is Yum!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Of course!! I always rec KB's works to my friends, be it audio book or ebook, even paperbacks. To say that I love this series is probably an understatment. I am addicted to these characters, even obsessed by them and I want my friends to also feel and know how I feel about them.

What other book might you compare Fuel the Fire to and why?

THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THESE BOOKS! I've been reading for years and nothing compares!! These books are one of a kind, so unique and one need to experience them not just read them to know what I'm talking about!

Which scene was your favorite?

Ahhh the closet scene always come to mind whenever I think of FTF. That scene is so raw, so emotional, to heartbreaking, so real. Two strong characters that even an apocalypse will never get them down, but that scene just feel so human!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The Coballoway closet scene and the Calloway sisters dock scene. And of course, the last scene in the book where they were saying goodbye. Ugh, I get teary eyed whenever I think of those scenes!!

Any additional comments?

This is by far the best series I've come across with! Everybody needs to read this series bec it's not only about romance, it's so much more!!

Not what I signed up for

I loved Rose and Connors story I until this one. I am a romance lover and don’t mind the drama. Fuel for the Fire showed that the hero had sex with men. Ah this was not what I signed up for. The hero ruined a good story and romance. Either you are gay or straight but not both. So he loved the heroine?’ Really?! Can I give negative rating? If you love bi, this one is for you but not for me. Soooo disappointed!!!!

Awesome book, engaging story.

Would you consider the audio edition of Fuel the Fire to be better than the print version?

The audio edition is as good as the print version.

What other book might you compare Fuel the Fire to and why?

I would compare it to Hothouse Flower; it is just as good. Well read and totally animated.

Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer and Mark Boyett ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Hot and cold and totally engaging.

Any additional comments?

I loved how this actors read the book. It kept me totally engaged.

This book is part of a series and is not a standalone. If you are a fan of the series, than this book is a must.
In this book we get to learn about Connor's teenage years; we also learn a bit of his sexual escapes while he attended the all boys school. Like most of the book there is drama in this book as characters from the past make an appearance and cause havoc into their happiness.

What I loved about this book is that not only do we learn more about Rose and Conner's married life, but we also encounter the rest of the gang and see what they have been up to. We also get glimpses into want is to come with Daisy and Ryke.

This book has no cliffy and and awesome HEA. Awesome book that does not disappoint.

For Connor and Rose fans!

6 (Best Book Ever) Stars

I love the addicted series. I love every.single.character. Rose and Connor are my favorites. I love the love that they have for each other. I loved Kiss the Sky and when I realized the authors wrote another book, well … you can see how happy that made me.

Fuel the Fire is everything you want for Rose and Connor. There was heart-ache, redemption, drama, pain and of course…. LOVE. After I finished reading Fuel the Fire, I was shaking with emotions. I cried, laugh and smiled.

Fuel the Fire picks up right after Addicted After All. You do not need to read the Addicted series, but I highly suggest you do. There is going to be a time gap if you don’t. Connor, Rose, Lily, Lo, Daisy and Ryke all live in the house together. The media is kicked up a notch and it seems that the gang is in the lime-light more than they want to be.

There’s a lot of drama that happens in the book. Connor and Rose approach the subject of having more children. Connor wants eight babies (he has stated this in previous books), but Rose is cautious. She doesn’t know if she wants to put her children in the public eye. Because what ever they do will be captured on camera.

Throughout the book we get a deeper look into who Connor and Rose are as individuals and as husband and wife. The thing that I ENJOYED so much is reading Connor. I’ve always been intrigued with him. I find his personality addictive and the perfect book boyfriend. I loved reading about his past and how much Connor is willing to do to protect his family. He’s changed and grown so much since the previous books and it’s so nice to see him so exposed.

Connor Cobalt is as classy as he is conceited. Both attract me. Both annoy me. I’m a paradox. And maybe that’s why he loves me.

We dated. We married. We had a baby. Together, we’re a face of nature to be reckoned with. That’s not my hubris speaking. It’s just the truth.

I love Rose. She’s known as the cold sister, but seeing her interact with Jane is just so refreshing. We see a warmer side to Rose and I loved reading her inner monologue. I loved reading her struggles and the sacrifices she makes for her family and especially for Jane. Just like Connor, we will see Rose, opened, exposed, and raw. It’s really heart-wrenching to read, but beautiful at the same time.

I seriously cried many times in this book. It will hit you in the gut. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Love. It meant nothing to him. Now it’s guiding his choices.

I need you to keep looking at me like you’re going to burn a hole through my heart, and I need you to tell me that you love the real me. Every day, I need you Rose.

I’ve referenced this many times, but I’ll say it again. What I enjoy most about these books is the love the two main characters have each other. It’s not an “against each other love” but “against the world” kind of love. It’s Connor and Rose verse the world and that is the stuff I crave for in books. That is the stuff that makes my heart go swoon, my eyes light up and gives my arms goose bumps.

That is pure-perfection.

I purposefully spent two hours with a girl who wore passion like a dress made of diamonds and hair made of flames. Every day of my life, I am enamored. Every day of my life, I am bewitched. And every day of my life, I spend it with her.

So long as I may be living, I live with you

I’m always whomever or what ever people need me to be… but you were the only one who needed me to be me

The story is beautifully written, I was seriously highlighting half the book. I really don’t know how Krista and Becca do it. They are like romantic geniuses.

If you love this series, if you love Connor and Rose or if you just like to read in general, you need to read Fuel the Fire.

Audio Questions

Would you listen to Fuel the Fire again? Why?

I would listen to Fuel the Fire again, in fact when I finished listening to it, I wanted to start it all over. I can't tell you how much I love this series, the spin-off series and this book. It guts you, makes you question life and appreciate what you have.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favorite character is my book husband, Connor. I LOVE LOVE LOVE him. I love him so much my real life husband knows how much I love Connor. Connor is the EPIC Hero I crave and lust after when I listen/read a book. He's caring, strong, arrogant, smart and most of all, he LOVES his family and wife. Gah, who doesn't want that?

Not only do I love Connor, but I love Rose too. It always makes the book better if I love the Hero and Heroine equally. I feel like I can relate to Rose on so many levels. I love how she can be cold, but warm at the same time. I love seeing the different sides of her in Fuel the Fire and yes I cried during the dark parts. I couldn't get enough.

Which scene was your favorite?

So many scenes are my favorite scenes. I love the scenes between Rose and Connor. The ones that are deep, important and reflects the love they have for each other. I love that Connor and Rose are willing to sacrifice everything for each other.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

If you have already read the book, then all I'm going to say is Rose + Fur Coat = ME BALLING MY EYES OUT. If you haven't read the book, I'm not giving anything away. I PROMISE! So don't get mad at me. There are other scenes that moved me too. The ones where it showed Connor really exposed and raw. Those gutted me. Even the beginning starts out with a bang with some down and down action (you will get it once you start it)

Favorite of the series so far!

My binge of the audiobooks of the Addicted/Calloway series continues, after a pause. I think this was my favorite of the series so far. Not just because I like Rose and Connor the best of the "core 6", at least in these books, but I love baby Moffy and baby Jane! I listened to the Like Us series before these, so it's been fun to go back see where it all began for those two, the start of their lifelong friendship! I might have actually teared up when Lily gave birth to Moffy.

It's also been interesting to see how the core 6 has been treated, not just by the media, but by their families, most especially the parents. It makes me wonder, after all they went through, how they could treat Moffy and Jane the way they did (view spoiler) in the Like Us series, when they faced questions that were just as hateful.

Rose and Connor are so entertaining! I really enjoyed these 2 so much. They're both such strong individuals, it was fun to see them go up against each other. The love they have for each other and their family is so inspiring.

I'm enjoying Mark Boyett's portrayal of Connor, although I still think he sounds just a little too old for Connor. But his performance is terrific. Therese Plummer does a great job as Rose- she gives her that right touch of confidence, poise, and a little high and mighty!

I'm ready for Long Way Down, but I have a review copy of Charming Like Us, so there's another slight pause before I can finish off the Calloway sisters' books. And then I think I'm going to have to go back in for my 3rd listen of the Like Us series, at least Moffy and Farrow's books!

The fuel in this fire is volcanic.

Cannot say enough great things about about this book and this series as a whole. There is none of the canned formula you get from most books. (You know 50% mark sex 90 percent the breakup and then tada HEA) There are no slow parts. I recommend this book to every twentysomething I know. The characters are abso lovable. I just want to gush about the whole series. I will defo buy every book these two write. They could make a daily to-do list funny, earthy, dramatic and you will do your chores pronto. I thought the narrators did well but it wasn't perfect.

Hmm…. how can I describe this….???

It’s like sitting in first class, listening to smooth jazz through your headphones on a 17 hour flight with no turbulence.

Did I like it? Yes. It was just really long and I’m not sure why.
