Publisher's summary

From New York Times best-selling author Lisa Renee Jones, this second book in the sexy, suspenseful new The Secret Life of Amy Bensen series picks up Amy and Liam's story after the cliffhanger ending of Escaping Reality.

Overhearing her lover, Liam Stone, in an incriminating conversation, Amy Bensen flees, intending to disappear and start over with a new identity. But no matter how clever she is at covering her tracks, the billionaire's resources enable him to track her down. And if he could do that, so can the mysterious, murderous people she's been running from for six long years.

But Amy is done running now, determined to uncover why her family was killed and who is hunting her - and why. Liam vows he's there to protect her, but can she trust him? Every time she questions him, his explanations are so easy to believe - almost too easy, given the dark, edgy passion that burns between them.

If he's part of "them", he's a deadly danger to her. And if he's not, then she's a danger to him because he'll become a target along with her. Does love stand a chance?

I really struggle with these books

Long boring, chasing shadows. 2 books down but I still don't know what's happening. Not sure I'll even get book 3. Not for me.

Good story, a little slow at times

I enjoyed the read, it was just really slow in parts and it jumped around quite a bit.

The book started out great, lots of suspense. Who to trust, who not to trust, why are things different this time... but I found myself annoyed with Amy more than once. It was almost like she had multiple personalities. One minute she's a scared teenager, then next she's so stubborn she doesn't care if it gets her killed, and later in the day she's a dumb blonde that has no clue what's going on. It was a bit much.

I really liked the plot, though it drug on and on at times. There was a whole cast of characters and you never knew who to trust and Amy just jumped from person to person with blind faith like a lost puppy. I was disappointed in the bad guy, I was hoping for something more interesting instead of the obvious. There were some characters that just fell out of the story, but perhaps they are explained in the next book... It just didn't feel like much of an ending.

Wishy-Washy

The first book had me hooked. The characters are nicely developed as is the intrigue of the plot. This book, however, drags out to ad nauseum. Because of this I grow tired and frustrated with the heroine. I'm hoping, at this point, that Liam kicks her to the curb.

LOVED it!!!

Once again I am amazed. This book had me and my emotions going all over the place. It was a great ride as well as this great book.
I am a fan of Lisa's writing and I am honest in my reviews and I really do believe in these first two books of The Secret Life of Amy Bensen. When I first looked at the cover of the books I didn't expect what was written inside. Excellence jumped out from the pages. I am once again in love with another series of hers.
Bravo Renee!!!!

Frustrating, not realistic. I like my fiction to at least makes sense.

Maybe it’s because I’m an old lady, but I just think that Amy made some pretty nonsensical decisions, not any that a reasonable person would make and that frustrated me. I thought about putting the book down but because I really enjoyed the first book, I struggled through, hoping that book number three would be much better

Gripping

I was compelled to travel this journey with Amy and Liam. I love how the plot unfolds, teasing the listener from one chapter to another.

Really enjoy

I watched the first book on Passionflix which helped bring the characters to life in the books. Have listened to infinite possibilities in 2 days ready to listen to more and find out what happened to Chad. I like cheesy romance! I really have enjoyed the first 2 books.

Amazing book

This second book in the Amy Bentsen series is totally phenomenal. The narrator really brings her story to life. Be prepared for another cliffhanger but it’s worth it.
