Publisher's summary

Brody is a talented motorcycle mechanic and werewolf stuck in his painful past. On yet another depressing night, he is viciously attacked by vampires.

Fallon is a brilliant tattoo artist with inherent magic. Tired of men and their games, she climbs onto her Harley and leaves her old life behind.

Running for his life, Brody crashes into Fallon and sparks fly. She ends up stranded in the Northwest with her ride out of commission.

With no ride and nowhere to go, Fallon allows her best friend to convince her to stay in Brody’s apartment. He’s determined to claim her heart and keep her safe from the shadows in her past. Fallon prides herself on her independence and would rather keep him safe, even from herself.

With the impending danger from the group of vampires and dark mages, they will have to work together. The closer they get, the harder it is for her to fight her attraction.

Be prepared for monsters, magic and lots of ink.

Bad writing, story and narration

I got tthis based on the glowing reviews. I guess people look for different things in a book. This is one of the worst books I've listened to. I've listened to 3.5 hours thinking I'd give it a chance and was doing a task and wanted to liten to something, but I don't think I can finish it. I generally expect these type of novels to be escapist and formulaic, but this one doesn't have anything to redeem it. The dialogue is uninspired and the characters flat. The narration is also quite bad. The main character isn't too bad, but most of the other women sound like you would expect a Barbie doll to sound and the male lead voice is terrible. Sounds more like an elderly uncle than a man in his prime. I will run, run from any other books by this author or read by this narrator.

IT DELIVERED MUCH MUCH MORE THAN I WAS EXPECTING

The small town of Edenton is full of 'Others'....Shifters, Fae, Vampires, Mages, Shadow Stalkers and now also a new beautiful Druid called Fallon who is about to liven things up when she rescues and then is rescued by a tall, handsome and sexy Werewolf Enforcer called Brody. He's sweet, sincere, warm, thoughtful, strong, protective and isn't all Alpha which is a good job because she needs a mate who understands and appreciates her strong attitude, magic abilities, tattoos, piercings and general no nonsense behaviour.... and her history. But she comes with a lot of deep emotional baggage, danger and her fear that an evil sinister enemy is back from the dead and he wants her.... no matter the cost.

This certainly is an action packed listen, whether it's describing Brody and Fallen's instant attraction, their sizzling chemistry and their hot sexual needs or their interaction with other members of the town or the drama that explodes when the evil Vampire finally makes his move.

Told from both POV's and the narrator did an ok job but sometimes the story did come across as a Fallon fan site whereas I'd of been happier with one for Brody.

Worth a credit? An unusual and addictive start to a new paranormal world that nicely unfolds and slowly releases more details and introduces more characters as the hours quickly fly by. Yes, IMHO, a creditworthy listen.

Ok book, but reading it would have been better!

Decent plot, I guess. Druids, werewolves, vampires, Fae, tattoo artist and Harleys! Parts of the book were kind of corny. But I think that is more because of the narrator. It sounded like cartoon characters. If anyone has ever heard the Pikachu cartoon, then you know exactly how the characters sound. (unfortunately, I am very familiar with how Pikachu sounds, because my children have tortured me on a daily bases for years with this cartoon!) The different voices and ranges are good, but most of the female voices sounded like peppy little pikachu characters hyped on an energy drink. The hero and heroine have deeper voices. Thank God! I think I would have liked the book more if I had read it.

I will probably purchase other books by the author as a kindle book. So this book was still worth it because it introduced me to another writer :).

I have no idea why I listened to the whole thing..

There WAS potential, but it never took off. Narration was awful, as in there was only one character she did half well. It was not good. The story was half hearted, sexual tension was tepid at most, dialog was difficult to listen to and didn't flow naturally. I'd like to say that another narrator might make a difference. I just don't think so. Not worth credit or price. I was very disappointed.

1st audio

Would you consider the audio edition of In Too Deep to be better than the print version?

In some ways yes because it made it hands free and the woman who did the voice was awesome. I even loved how she put a growl in her voice to sound more like Brody.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved this story in general but I really loved how Fallon, the female lead was such a kick butt kind of girl. Brody too was a Beta with alpha traits and I love Alphas.

Which character – as performed by Kelley Hazen Storyteller Productions – was your favorite?

Brody and his growl

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Every time she spoke for Brody I smiled and I laughed out loud quite a few times. Where I had headphones on my family thought I was crazy.

WOW! LOVED!

If you read my review of the novella that came before this book, New Beginnings, you would remember that I am overall new and unexperienced in this whole paranormal world. While I have read a few Vampire books some of which I have really enjoyed I had never really connected to them and was never "dying" to get my hands on more. So imagine my surprise when upon completion of reading and listening to New Beginnings I was basically salivating waiting to get my hands onto In Too Deep (also I would love to get my hands on the sexy southern hero, Brody, but more on that in a minute.) I can honestly say that I am a self proclaimed "alpha-whore" and as it turns out shifter books fit right into that genre nicely.

In Too Deep is the story of sexy tattoo artist and druid, Fallon, and pack enforcer and widower Brody. We met both these characters (although Fallon only briefly) in New Beginnings so I knew a tad bit of what I was getting but boy was there a ton I was not expecting. Fallon is on the move from a relationship gone bad when she gets into an accident with Brody and gets stuck in Edenton for a while. This is not upsetting to Brody at all since as a wolf he knows his mate when he meets her. I know a lot of people out there are anti "insta-love" but for me personally I kinda love getting caught up in that it feels so right, this must be my perfect match, magical feeling that comes from when two people who are meant to be together just get it.

Both Fallon and Brody come with a ton of baggage. He lost his wife and the child they should have had and she has been treated so poorly by her ex, Isaac that she is not sure if she is ready to jump all into a new relationship. But despite all this they cannot deny their scorching chemistry and strong pull. Plus, they have bigger issues to deal with . . . like a conflict amongst some Vampires led by a powerful and twisted Vampire named Malachi. I cannot even get into the complicated and action packed drama that is brewing in this book. But what I will say is that I was both on the edge of my seat reading it and drying my eyes because for as much of it was fast paced action it was also deeply emotional and heart wrenching.

I LOVED Fallon as a leading lady. She is a leader and doesn't take s*** from anyone. I love how when she knows what is right she doesn't stop to ask permission but proceeds with it, such as putting wards in tattoos. but while she is strong willed and self assured she is also responsive to the alpha in Brody. They are a balance to each other. For while she is a tough chic, he is a sexy southerner which softens him a bit compared to some other alphas like Slater from New Beginnings. That being said Brody is ALL MALE and definitely ALL ALPHA! I could read/listen to Brody all day long. That man does things to me. . . very very good things.

As I said before I also previously listened to and reviewed the audiobook of New Beginnings, the prequel novella, but I had a few concerns going into this book. When I listened to New Beginnings I had the added benefit of the fact that I had previously read the book version. So while it had been a few months since I had read it I knew the story and that made it super easy to follow along. So when I started In To Deep I was slightly concerned, not being a para reader typically, that I would have a hard time following along in the crazy and complex world that exist inside Brandy Rivers head. While I will say there were a few times where I had to back up 30 seconds or so because I got distracted and missed something and suddenly everything had changed it was not often and in my experience of listening to over 100 audio books I have to do that some in almost every book. My other concern was not being able to keep up with all the different kinds of "others" and what they can do and how they all interconnect. This is where I feel Brandy shines. She writes these crazy complex worlds that I believe every long time para reader will love and get lost into while at the same time constantly helping out us newbies by explain the differences and how they all interconnect.

After listening to In Too Deep I am very excited to jump feet first into more paranormal books especially those by Brandy Rivers. I can 100% say that if you are looking to give paranormal a shot this is a great place to start.

Love Others!

Would you consider the audio edition of In Too Deep to be better than the print version?

For this book, I truly preferred the print version. I really love this story and I felt that the narrator kind of took away from the persona's that I had imagined for each of the characters.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved her tone for Fallon and for Brody.

What three words best describe Kelley Hazen Storyteller Productions’s voice?

Whiney, inconsistent, simple.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I had to take this audio in doses because at times listening to her in certain characters was as annoying as nails on a chalk board. I wanted to love the audio as much as the print, but this narrator just did not work for me.

WOW! Great audio book!

Would you listen to In Too Deep again? Why?

Yes! I have read In Too Deep before, but there is something magical about listening to the characters come to life. As a reader you have certain images and voices in your head, but listening to someone bring all the characters to life makes the characters more real.

What did you like best about this story?

Where do I start?! This book has a little bit of everything! It has wolves, vampires, mages, faes and so many more supernaturals. There is love, action, humour, passion, and romance! This book is a paranormal romance readers dream!

What about Kelley Hazen Storyteller Productions’s performance did you like?

I think Kelley Hazen did a good job in narrating In Too Deep. Her voices for the various characters was consistent.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I wouldn't necessarily say I was moved, but the scene were Fallon and Preston are bantering back and forth in the tattoo shop made me laugh. I liked the chemistry between them and the witty comebacks they had for each other.

Any additional comments?

I really did enjoy listening to this audio. Part of it had to do with the narrator, but mostly it had to do with how well this book was written. Brandy L Rivers has managed to create a series that can keep a readers attention and leave them wanting more! I cannot wait for the next book!

Good Story

I came across this book as I was looking for something different and I am glad I did. Lets see we have a very beautiful powerful trouble tattoo artist. a beta whom lost his mate, the alphas' mate can see the future and see all kind of trouble headed their way, some very mean vampires, insane exlover. all I can say I LOVED IT
